vernacular commentary is always more spicy and fun

Exactly. All those desis simping over Foreign commentators don't realize that English is their mother tongue.

They have a huge advantage. It's not easy to emote in your second language.

moreover, the indian commentators in english censor themselves too much

What is the point of picking pacers like Chahar who look so innocuous if the ball is not moving ????

Shardul was there as bowling allrounder anyway.

every tom, dick and harry who play cricket know that Chahar and Bhuvi bowl 125K rockets when they are called to bowl after 35th Over as the ball is not swinging.

what can a bowler do bowling at 125K and the ball not moving/swinging , he will be tonked- why cant the captain finish off their overs in the first half of the innings.

the pace at which they ball with old ball is like a fastish spinner and that is hit, even bhuvi is hit who is a shade better bowler than deepak chahar. if you pick them in the 11, give him the new ball and then after 6 overs , give them a break of 5 overs to relax and then bring them again and finish them off- at least they will go for less runs.

it doesn't matter in general, but when people are writing falsehoods about speeds, it is necessary to correct that.

Absolutely !

I wasn't referring to what you wrote.

I was talking about some of the Padosi posters who give the impression that the only thing they want from cricket is a quicker bowling attack than India, irrespective of how good they are.

This is not a new revelation that Chahar is not good after power-play/once the ball stops swinging. Its easy to line both him and Bhuvi up.

Intl batters can easily pre-emptively predict their line and length and get in to position to score, and when the batter faults to guess the line they can re-adjust owing to lack of pace.

The other problem with Chahar, bhuvi and showing signs in Singh as well is that after getting hit for a 4/6 they donot have a come-back ball, this is v.clear in the case of Chahar, bhuvi. so if batting side is able to get 4/6 in first few balls of the overs they can score12/13 of that over easily.

As for Thakur, its well know that he gets wkts on sheer luck.

I am really enjoying a lot of your insightful posts.

Sen has some issues with ball release from time to time. This makes him bowl poor lines once or twice an over.

Mhambrey needs to work on this aspect.

Umran has a good ball release and seam position. If he decides to base his game on the top of off stump directed ball / channel ball, he can go places. The other types of balls are variations and he must use them as such. Again Mhambrey needs to work on this but has not.

While Donald has definitely improved the stock balls of Taskin and Ebadot. They are basing their bowling on this delivery.

Vishalbhai .... What is the need to pick the first 10 over specialists  ?

Quicker and more versatile pacers like Siraj and Prasidh can move the new ball too. And hit the deck hard later on.

mhambrey can only work on 1 thing - on converting genuine pacers to trundlers.

mark my words, if dravid, mhambrey, captain are allowed to proceed as now, in 1 year from now, both kuldeep sen and umran will be bowling at avg speeds of high 130s and rarely/never bowling high 140s.

I expect them to drop Sen even though he might have won it for us...  If Captain had even used 5% of his brains.

Rohit is clearly not a fast bowling captain & neither a spin bowling one like Dhoni.

He panicked rather way too early & should have backed Sen over that loser Chahar.

Sen could have bowled a few Yorkers or tried those...  With the correct field setting

BCCI has hired an economical fast bowling coach Mhambrey but Bangla has hired a costly fast bowling coach Allan donald ???

Ebadot is real impressive, effortless action and bowls attacking lengths, with his run up and action he can maintain 140kph quite effortlessly.

Sen's back foot doesn't rotate quickly that leads to poor ball release at times especially when he tries to bowl short.

Had posted it before too. His back leg should be pointing towards the batsman but it doesn't rotate as front foot lands. Needs to work on that. Hopefully Steffen Jones will correct it at RR during IPL.

If we raise this question and we will get the response "great cricketers don't become great coaches".
However, in our 2011 WC campaign, our coach was a legendary batter and we saw the result.

Our bowlers need a Shane Bond, Dale Steyn or Jason Gillespie...not Paras Mhambrey, Doda Ganesh, T Kumaran.

Australia have brought the quickest bowler in the country into the Test squad as cover for injured skipper Pat Cummins.

Lance Morris has flown to Adelaide to join the Australian squad ahead of the second Test against the West Indies on Thursday.

The paceman regularly clocks over 150k/h for Western Australia and played a key role in their Sheffield Shield-winning side last summer.

“He’s right up there with the quickest I’ve ever seen. My mind goes back to a game last year in Tasmania. He hit 152km/h in his first over of the day, that’s extreme pace.

“He generally averages around the 145-147kmh which is as quick as any of the guys playing internationally anywhere in the world so he is right up there and he does it easy. It looks like it’s easy pace for him.

“It was great sometimes watching him and Jhye Richardson go toe-to-toe at net practice when we had the speed gun out. You could see Richo stick one down there at 145 and then Lance just crank one up at 147 just to let him know he’s around.”

Look at the way Aussies are hyping up pace of yet another quick bowler. This is how you bulid fast bowling attacks. While ours hype up Mukesh Kumar type bowlers and don't miss any opportunity to run down a young fast bowler the moment they go for a few runs and right start crying about control and line and length.

"Whether you are bowling at 135 or 145 or 125, whether you are swinging the ball or not, you are judged by the results," Dravid said.

"And bowling analysis of our fast bowlers was also pretty good. So I respect their bowling, certainly, but I am very confident that we have a very good bowling attack as well," he said.

dravid prefers if they bowl <125. fits well with his idea of an attack
