Jaydev Shah son of Niranjan Shah is seen lurking around the TM, saurashtra cricket president, these Gujarati baniyas are all quite connected, thou saurashtra have done well over the years but most are average players, money has come in thr association now with their own premier league, it's pretty obvious strong richer associations will push the cases for their players, no wonder the fast bowlers from up, MP, Rajasthan get neglected, Mukesh Kumar playing India A ahead of stalwart Ankit rajput? Neither are international matierial but if first class performances was the criteria then thr likes of rajpoot, aniket chaudhary would have been considered? Plus how does shabaz jump the queue ahead of abhisekh Sharma, dagar, Roy etc? Nagaswallah another dodgy selection is now not around.

Rajpoot has already played for India A in several games.

Umran will always pick wickets against the run of play because of his express pace and this can be so handy in test matches too, when those pesky partnerships develop.

I feel..this IPL is going to be adding lot of experience for Umran..

havung played good international crocket now..he will be in much better shape to grasping and learning death bowking better and also learn more to how to counter agressive intent of batsmen

Umran should be picked vs SL too hopefully.  Once he gets a run of a few games he will learn more about his bowling...  And will get confident. 

Remember he has to perform every single time to keep Trundlers out...  He knows it too. 

Saini was another one who after getting hit occasionally got dropped for likes of Chahar & Shardul...  That dreaded cycle in Indian cricket.  Khaleel was also a same case.

Bowlers with wicket taking ability are gold in any format of the game, and to develop wicket taking ability a bowler need to have more than one skill to create chances.

 

Umran has raw pace, but along with that I also see ability to bowl channel bowls at high pace which can trouble the batters no matter how soft the bowl becomes, he can bounce out and also has decent Yorker...which means he is not dependent on any one skill to pickup wickets. Ofcourse he is far from finished product but I think in Tests he can be extremely useful with his reverse swing as well.

 

Anyway, he is playing for J&K and I am hopeful that they will include him for the Ranji Matches, where he will get more chances to bowl longer spells.

 

Kartik Tyagi is unfortunately not in UP Ranji Squad, don't know what's going wrong with that poor fellow. He played VHT and SMAT so was in rhythm and should have been picked for Ranji as well, but unfortunately he is nowhere to be seen.
