Besides, you are severly underrating wood btw. Wood was exceptional in Australia and recently in your country, Pakistan too. Wood averages 31 in tests and 39 in odis and is made of glass. I don't rate a bowler just because he can bowl 150.

Need4Speed Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 (edited) Well I dont remember how fast bowlers were bowling earlier so cant contribute much to debate but..I can say..all the bastmen telling they felt Shosib was faster or Shami was faster etc.. its also due to the fact that how much pace the bowler dont lose when ball reaches the batsmen.. So effectively for the express pace bowlers..the ball reaches around 130-135k to the batsmen.. so maybe Brett Lee was faster than Shoaib but he may have lost more pace after pitching or may be at times Shami could be faster than Shoaib due to skiddy nature.. I am very much sure..if Mohd Shami(Ind) would bowl at 154k..he would apoear faster to batters as compared to Wood at 155+ .. that speed after pitching hasnt been trackef much..which could give better idea..who is actually faster on facing.. Wood is Extremely skiddy... Hurries u like anything. Probably most skiddy one among express pacers. Umran might be second.

Ya..The tall guy will get more bounce..and is more awkward to face at pace.. as far as skiddiness is concerned.. imo..two bowlers with similar pace..skiddier will reach with more pace..and may seem faster to batters.. so as mentioned by earlier posters..Shami appeared more faster than Shoaib to some Indian batsmen.. ofc..the bowlers should be close enough in terms of pace to compare..and not significatly different.. how much that “significant” diff is..unfortunately I dont know..as that speed after pitching data is/was not tracked that much

There were so many things going for Malinga; batters' last worry was bit of skiddines. Edited January 13, 2023 by tapandrun Need4Speed 1

When you use the action of straightening of your forearm more than 15 degrees kf permitted straightening. Bumrah has never been found straigheting his arm more than 15 degrees. His action is different becase he lowers his arm close to the plane of his shoulder thats legal as long as it is not underarm. Akthar i believe was caught chucking as were many pakistani bowlers, it lowers your country and your cricket acheivements when they get caught.

Spot on, arm being straight at shoulder height is legal, bumrah's hyper extension is when his elbow bone points forward at release not back, his arm is very straight before release, Shoaib was dodgy.
