Arun was NCA coach too at some point in time, he may not be interested any more and you need to develop newer coaches.

He is a sought after coach by IPL teams think he was with KKR last season

There are multiple coaches in NCA not just one.

They try to bring in some foreign coach/expert who works with these local coaches, there is kind of a team of bowling coaches, batting coaches and fielding coaches - around 3/4 each kind of coach and then there could be some other staff or junior coaches.

The systems has worked fr Ind cricket. Ind has been getting next line of coaches frm NCA and get an outside expert if needed like strength/conditioning.

MRF pace foundation has legacy relationship with BCCI and boards under bcci. and MRF kind of works with NCA but there are different roles.

VVS is director of NCA now so reporter may have used his name. MRF use to req. boards for their fast bowlers to be send in then these bowlers would work with MRF coaches it use to be a big thing if they were top talent in MRF-PF.

Since that bumrah issue, NCA has been under lot of pressure and is being cautious now. They previous use to give all clear to player but they would get injured again with same injury but this time it was bhumrah so eye-brows were raised.

At one time players were more comfortable going to their IPL teams medical and coaching team than NCA because of these issue. A lot of noise were made when Pandya chose MI over NCA.

Specialist bio mechanics expert  or sport injury related doctors are hard to find and then injuries related to a particular sports and specifics of it are v.hard.

These kind of ppl are really busy and getting their appointments are v.hard. These specialist mechanics expert are v.few and only come on short term contracts as these ppl work around the globe and also pursue studies and researches so they are not available all the time. Such experts have to be upto date on the developments of their fields and how can they implement in their sports

So if Mayank is currently bowling 10 overs morning..10 overs evening..daily in NCA with close to full tilt..then a gap of 7 days..and again same routtine in NCA..

I know match conditions and oressure is different but shouldnt such kind of practice..a plan to prepare is body for sustaining consistent workload??

Its upto how many bowlers Ind team wants to carry to Aus and how many pacers in a 16 member squad. This is to accommodate the a relatively newer batting side and order.

And right now seems like they are inclined towards a LAF not sure that is just to bring in a more capable LAF bowler in white-ball cricket or they are serious about having a LAF in tests regardless of anything

It would be so unfair if Akashdeep misses the flight..but this is very common with BCCI

They will probably carry 6 pacers for such a long tour.

Bumrah

Shami

Siraj

Akashdeep

Harshit

LAF ( Khaleel or Dayal )

It is also possible that they will ask 2 or 3 of the successful A tour pacers to stay back as net bowlers.

Things will become interesting if Mayank is fit and performs on the A tour. He will probably replace one of Akash or Harshit then.

Paras was horrible coach, they need to use Bharat Arun's experience and create a pool of Indian coaches.

I am glad that Varun Aaron is into coaching now.I read somewhere he is working with MRF. I hope these aspiring  coaches do learn some bio mechanics and nuances of actual fast bowling.

Really not sure what was the logic and thinking of previous TM and selectors over the development and promoting of fast bowlers. They lost 2 bowler and were unable to bring any1, they brought Mukesh kumar, Unadkat and Avesh who never looked intnl quality. Think there has to be some data backing up that 140ish bowlers with some kind of yorkers do well in so inducted these kind of bowlers.

Dravid had worked with U-19 and Ind A and was NCA head ppl were thinking he will bring in new talent but he didnt. Can be multiple reasons fr that at one time both him and rohit looked like they are doing the time pass. and till that asia cup win Ind team was not looking in any kind of shape they were losing everwhere.

Now its upto this TM to bring in new talent they have large pool ready for it, some player have recovered and some are recovering and this management have time on their hand as well.Which Dravid kind of dint.

Aaron seemed to be good orator but he does not have any coaching exp. and his skills as a coach is yet to be tested and he is with MRF-PF , but good thing is he undersantd what pace means.

Paras was v.bad from the result ind got, he didnt improve any bowler, Singh didnt gain any pace, Siraj kept losing his pace. Can not say there was any bowler who improved under him.

Prasidh has to be in the consideration atleast.

After Yudhvir Singh now Gurnoor Brar also included as a net bowler

@express bowling @Mosher @Suhaan

Preparing for Nahid Rana maybe

Yudhvir and Gurnoor are handy with bat, tall hit the deck bowlers who bowl in late 130's to early 140's.
Seems Morkel is bringing his "kind" into the setup.

Prasidh bowled poorly in the 2nd innings. Was going through the motions and looked disinterested. Speeds were 127 k to 139 k. Poor accuracy too.

His attitude and temperament were under question and he sort of confirmed it.

I was hopeful that he would be eager to prove to the world that the SA tour was an aberration. Sadly, it did not happen.

Needs to redeem himself in the next game and be back in contention.

The problem with Prasidh is his FC wickets. When you play just 16 FC matches and take less than 60 wickets in almost a decade since debut it is a problem.I said it before his no show in SA also it is huge red flag.

Ishant as 18 year old was bowling at same speed in his 9th over in tests. As Sehwag said Ishant was used to bowl long spells in Ranji.

This guy was huffing and puffing in his second spells in odis.He is 28 if he is still huffing and puffing and looking disinterested then something is very wrong with this guy.

As a 6th option, he still offers more in Aus than Khaleel/Dayal. Perhaps Morkel can work with him being a similar kind of bowler

Oh good. At least Gurnoor's name is somewhere in the reckoning

My only gripe with this is they keep picking these guys only for Net practice... Tyagi was treated similarly.

Only Kuldeep Sen got to play International Cricket after being a net bowler:joyman:

Tyagi even play tour game before BGT 20-21 and impressed. Still wasnt picked for Gabba when everyone was injured. Instead Nattu was picked.

I have been a supporter of Prasidh for a long time.Wanted him in the team. But must get his attitude right.

If I were the captain, I would not pick a player who seems disinterested.

More than SA, I am angry at him today. Why was he disinterested today with the selectors watching him  !!!!!

He must must bowl fiery spells in the next match.
