I think the fast bowlers arent being handled well offlate, and that is one of the reasons. Lack of the 3rd pacer is taking it's toll on the other 2 pacers. There seems to be some mental fatigue. Poor team selection regarding not picking Akashdeep. But I really like the fact that Bumrah still retains the ability to bowl entire overs around 145 k in test matches after almost 9 years at the top level. rkt.india Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Siraj has officially become a trundler. Bowling mostly below 135.
Lord Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 At this point I prefer even Arshdeep instead of DSP Siraj express bowling and Need4Speed 2

Personal milestones are ok, at the end of the day though, what and how they perform as a collective, matters. Despite being able to bowl at 145, Bumrah doesn't seem to bother the batsmen should be a bigger concern. Sooner than later, the pace will drop permanently. The management doesnt seem to be in a mood to encourage fast bowlers. In simple words, they do not seem to be in a mood to encourage future ' great ' bowlers, who can make the test team as a legendary team. The management is happy with mediocrity. There is too much corruption and wheeling dealing at stake here. This 145 and 146 is going to come down to 135-136 within the next 12 months, if the attitude continues. There's just too much of PR and hype, due to vested interest, corruption of some individuals, around the mediocre bowlers. You become who you surround yourself with.

It's not a matter of personal milestones. We all know that Bumrah picks loads of wickets when he is able to bowl full tilt. Can't expect him to pick lots of wickets every innings. But I would be a lot more comfortable if we have a 140 - 145 k Bumrah bowling in Australia instead of a 135 - 140 k Bumrah. They have picked Mayank, Harshit snd Akashdeep and have removed Unadkat, Mukesh and Avesh. That's a positive step as all 3 have high ceilings. Who have they not picked among potential greats ? Bro I think @Rightarmfast is saying same thing. Bumrah can't this quick everytime if he will not get enough support. Siraj, Ashwin & Kuldeep were leaking runs from all sides. If we need Bumrah to act on its premium capacity, we need to give him bowlers who can support him, which didn't happen in this test so far. Harshit, Mayank, Akashdeep are good selections, but neither played here. This pitch too just flattened after day 2 first session where we batted abysmally. The 145k deliveries of Bumrah were slower to the batter and allowing them sufficient time to adjust. Thats why Kuldeep & Ashwin who were operating at 80-85kph too struggled, pitch didnt offer them any pace or turn. This kinda pitch is ideal for Shami & Akashdeep who are wicket to wicket and hence can take advantage of variable bounce, Siraj wasnt that accurate. Rightarmfast 1

Need4Speed Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Siraj should be dropped..and need to be taught a lesson..

Bro, I said the same thing too in an earlier post ... that the lack of a 3rd pacer, Akashdeep, resulted in Bumrah being less effective in this match so far ( it may change in the 2nd innings if the spinners get help ) This was a big tactical error. 3 hours ago, singhvivek141 said: Harshit, Mayank, Akashdeep are good selections, but neither played here. It would help us a lot if he retains his ability to bowl entire overs around 145 k when the conditions flatten out. He has prised out wickets doing this in many past test series. I am happy that he retains this ability. What was missing in this match were the yorkers which take the pitch out of the equation. This is v.low potential bowling line, Ind low on fast bowling stock still low talents are making into ind A. This tournament could have been used high potential local league player. There are players in this team who already have Ind cap -Tilak, Abhishek, R.Chahar. What R.chahar emerging out of -he has been part of IPL set-up for years now still only bowls 1 over. Genuine T20 player like Chikara, Priyanshu etc should have been picked, there was some left arm leg spinner in MT20 league or there was Zeeshan from mpt20 that could have been picked. As fr pacers -Gurnoor, Some LAF may be Manan tiwari etc. The pitch looked good not slow and sluggish Edited October 19, 2024 by tapandrun
