If other teams also had our impossible risk-averse standards then they would also only manage to bring in 130 kph line and length trundlers who only kiss the surface. They all go for plenty of runs sometimes. All express pacers got thrashed in the last odi WC still they persist with them.

Bro, Swann was going gaga about Harshit. Said 149 k is rapid. Gavaskar was quite positive too about his pace and bounce. Shastri talked about his bounce and deck hitting ability.

 

But no Indian commentator talked about his 149 k or so many mid 140s deliveries.

The ipl teams have better eye for talent with their talent camps. Many of those who come from u19 and domestic pipeline seem to get lost.

I was impressed by him in t20 and thought he will be bashed and he may take 1 wicket as it's a Patta ..critics may cry to drop him.

 

But this guy exceeded my expectations..could not watch him as I am in office.

Akashdeep failed in Australia...he did beat a lot but wickets were required...his figures were not impressive. People forget that edges were missed , catches were dropped.

Kuldeep Yadav has got just 2.3 degree turn today. Rashid 3.6. Livingstone 3+ too.

 

Kuldeep is 5th in list after Jadeja snd Bethel too.

1-2 ball here and there wont say much but bowling 140-144 kmph consistently is good.

He still needs to be close to 145 kmph mark to be more effective.

That T20i there were only 2 deliveries 145kmph or more --145 and other 151

Eng. cricket has been appreciative of pace for some time now , it started with flintoff, harminson.

And that ashes where they were not able to handle pace from johnson.

And then now with their own top of the line pacers -archer and wood.

Kuldeep y. is returning after groin injury, looked rusty. Its hard to recover frm such injury. Many careers have been ended or curtailed due to this.

He should have taken more time to return to the intnl cricket may be would have worked on strngth and conditioning. With groin injury its hard to pivot on axis and hence unable to rotate and impart spin and angle on the ball. Think shadab (pak) leg-spinner also faced the same issue.
