I’m all for tests. But shouldn’t box him like that. LOIs equally important. We lack bowlers there too.

Yup...but good FC will help him delivering those crucial overs w/o losing fitness or stamina.

Gurnoor is ready for Tests, alongside Prasidh, Akashdeep, Siraj and Bumrah. Harshit has serious stamina issues which needs improvement. Ashok looks well built and strong...unlike Arshdeep & Mayank who look malnourished.

Ashok's strong fitness will help him deliver long spells without running to NCA every now and then.

Yes right. Body conditioning n strength building very important with moderation. First class can help him there.

Manav Suthar is hopeless as captain.

Pathetic captain. Should have bowled himself in the middle overs to take wickets.  Instead came on when match was practically over.

You can trust India to pick two frontline spinners in Dharmashala of all places and with so much dew around. Spin quartet legacy on late 1970s lives on

@Rightarmfast, @express bowling, @Nikhil_cric, @Mosher, @Suhaan, @raki05, @rkt.india

Ashok has pace..genuine pace. Though he bowls with a lot of effort unlike Mayank. But he seems a strong lad.

@tapandrun, @Lord

Every bowler is diff. Mayank in those 2 IPL games was something else. Can not compare every-1 to some1 who was proper express bowler.

No doubt, Mayank was bowling like a well oiled machine whose every part seems to be working right on top efficiency.

The only pacer who could do that was Umesh, simply effortless pace. But Mayank's body is fragile and keeps on breaking down. Hope he recovers.

Ashok on the other hand generates pace courtesy of his action load and the effort from the shoulder. Very similar to Varun Aaron, who too used to give everything at the last minute. Though Varun's runup was start-stop type with limited movement on his non bowling arm. Ashok's runup is smoother in comparison.

To me, Ashok's action seems more injury prone than Mayank, but Ashok seems stocky and desi munda type just like Umesh. Plus has the ability to bowl yorkers, bouncers, round the wicket to lefties and is no mug with the bat.

Anyway, wont like to have too much hopes. So far he has done well in FC as well...14 wkts in 4 games. We will have 50 over tournament as well after SMAT, just hope he retains his fitness and don't burn himself out.
