CG Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Good enough for 10 or 15 runs. He plays the line of the ball . He doesn't account for the swing or seam movement. Hence he often got cleaned up by relatively straight ball with slight change of direction. There were times he missed the line of the ball by a huge distance. I mean.. great batsmen would be good enough to edge a great ball. This guy often missed by a long way. A reason why he didn't get out to steyn for 3 overs in the one dayers lol. But that proved his undoing quiet a few times . He got out to some relatively mediocre balls by completely missing the line. He is a good timer of the ball. That is his strong suit. He has time to play his shots. But he often plays down the wrong line. He Plays late so he has time as initially he is on the backfoot. He missed the line of the ball few years back due to faults in his technique during the srilankan odi series. He has improved upon that. In odis he opens the batting ,white ball does swing he has adapted well to the role.He will only improve as a test batsman as He is technically well equipped when you strength is pull shot you can just push further forward as bowlers know your strengths working with ponting shouls have helped him.
vvvslaxman Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 He just proved my point. Played down the wrong line.
maniac Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Farce of a game anyways ROHIT hasn't got the long rope in tests that he got in loi....give him an ultimatum to come good in at least the next 10 tests....if he fails dump him for good
Doof Warrior Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Farce of a game anyways ROHIT hasn't got the long rope in tests that he got in loi....give him an ultimatum to come good in at least the next 10 tests....if he fails dump him for good considering all the tests will be played in flat roads , it is pretty much assured that he will come good at some point of time.
Gollum Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 wonder how vijay sorted himself out he was very similar a few years back Even then he had patience. He would get out for low scores but at least try his level best to hang in there, he had guts and determination. Also his technique was never as loose as Nohit's. Maggi doesn't have the temperament, doesn't have technique, total useless pick.
rkt.india Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Sala set ho ke out ho gaya arsol...match jitana tha..useless
putrevus Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 People need to chill, to expect him to score 100 every time he gets set is ridiculous. If he gets outs after making 60 odd @ 100 SR he has done his job as an opener. It is more an indictment of this batting line up and Dhobi's form is awful, the tail starts from Jadeja as Ashwin is useless in odis.
Zero_Unit Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 ^ i can't remember when was the last time Dhoni produced something magical with the bat. Last memory of that was in the WC2011 final. You're definitely right, dhoni and onwards = tail
