fineleg Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 (edited) Indeed very worrying signs that Md. Shami is not even in the radar. Wondering if he will ever be regain his form back even after his very slow recovery :(BCCI is so poor in rotation of fast bowlers, managing injuries etc. Not talking abt this specific case, but overall. rkt.india Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Safe to say his career is anything but over? Minor injuries do not take 1 year to healIt wasn't a minor injury. He had a surgery and its not over one year. He played wc and underwent surgery in may, so, it is barely 5 months. He is back to bowling and rehabilitating at NCA. He bowled in the India nets before SA series in NCA.
vvvslaxman Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Dang, Ashwin/Mishra combination was shaping up beautifully.
express bowling Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Why Sreenath Arvind ? He is not even medium pace. What happened to Dhawal Kurkarni ? Our ODI pace attack is looking pathetic. Why are no new guys being tried ? Like Iyer or Nair or Pandya ? Dang, Ashwin/Mishra combination was shaping up beautifully. Exactly my thoughts.
Mosher Posted October 19, 2015 Author Posted October 19, 2015 Jadeja on indian pitches can be handful.Umesh yadav should have been retained. He has been picking wickets since last year in odis. One series he is out.Dhoni has made it clear he wants medium pacers who are going at same R.p.o but give him mythical control.Exactly. If you see the RPO for the matches so far, except the 2nd ODI, Umesh, Bhuvi and Mohit all are going for more than 6.5 RPO in this series. Dont know what control they are offering. On the basis of wickets too they are similar Bhuvi - 3 wickets in 3 matches, Umesh - 3 wickets from 2 matches and Mohit - 3 wickets from 2 matches. Now add Aravind to the mix. He went for 12 RPO in the only T20 he played. Then he was dropped for the next match. I don't know exactly what value he adds to the team and he has not done anything of note to replace Umesh. Only reason I can think is Dhoni has his strange preferences/biases and he sticks with them.

Mohit Sharma too went at 7 rpo in yesterday's game.

rkt.india Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Cant find a coherent reason behind the selection of Aravind! Why not some other youngster! Aravind is a 31 year old no hoper.
Gollum Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Jadeja in tests in SC will be handy. Just hope that Mishra/Ashwin don't get the axe any time soon. Awesome combo those two !!!
express bowling Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Why are we not looking for some tall and accurate pacers for LOIs. These types of pacers are difficult to hit. All our LOI pacers are so short and inaccurate. Mosher 1
express bowling Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 What is Rayudu's role in the ODI squad ?
Mosher Posted October 19, 2015 Author Posted October 19, 2015 What is Rayudu's role in the ODI squad ?Foodpanda. Rayudu is Indian team's Foodpanda. Whenever the Indian team craves for some Hyderabadi biryani, Rayudu is the go to man. adi B 1

cowboysfan Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 I am only OK with Jaddu if he is the fifth bowler.
Laaloo Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 (edited) Will we play 3 spinners or is this because Ashwin is injured? 5 bowlers? Ishant Yadav and 3 spinners? Edited October 19, 2015 by laaloo
bowl_out Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Jaddu as fifth bowler in home tests is not a bad option... Kohli is anyway playing 5+1 batsmen only.. Jadeja > Binny as the fifth bowler in home conditions...The combination is likely to be - Leggie, Offie, Left arm orthodox, Sprayer 1, Sprayer 2
bowl_out Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 We do not really have tall bowlers with good pace.Ishant Sharma
rkt.india Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Ishant Sharma Ishant is obvious. Will we play 3 spinners or is this because Ashwin is injured? 5 bowlers? Ishant Yadav and 3 spinners?Ashwin should be fit by then. Ishant banned for one test.
maniac Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 Jadeja's domestic performances need to be taken with a pinch of salt....we are talking about a guy who has 3 300's in domestics anyways I will take him over Axar.....but in tests as a 3rd spinner on these tracks behind Ashwin and Mishra I think he will be fine but if DHoni plays him ahead of those 2 then hell no
