Many Congrats team India and fans for yet another WC victory over Pak...

Yet again invincible Kohli was the major difference, brilliant chase... I think Pakistan did whatever possibly best we could have done. Yes, losing Toss was an advantage india to start with but still I guess we managed to put a reasonable total considering THIS pitch, which was to me, just Horrible for such a wonderful event. Pak definitely misread the pitch but still I don't think inclusion of Imad or Pak batting 2nd would've made any difference on result...

The difference was fielding, not sure how closely you watched the game but Indians stopped at least 3 boundaries Pak gave few which is 15 odd runs difference, if Pak had those 15 more runs it would have been a different game.

This Pakistan team is a lot more likable, and I don't say it because they've lost. :D This team is a lot more talented too.

Some years back they had characters like Abdul Razzak, Umar Gul, Shoaib Malik, Tanvir. Basically the loudmouth full of themselves players against whom you'd never like to lose. This Pakistan team on the other hand should get a lot of support in the stadia across the country, except when they play against India.

Good luck to Pakistan for the remaining tournament.

Would be good to have an India Pakistan final. :)

Don't you think Afridi and waqar should had picked more spinners.Spin was one of your strength in 2009 WC but they picked up 4 fast bowlers on turning wicket

I was not able to watch full match but dont think fielding can b called as top diff today. Pak is lacking a genuine spinner in squad here, I feel this was a Zulfiqar babar wicket... For indian spinners it was like a Test match Day 5 rank turner... on the other hand Pak strength of Irfan, Wahab like pacers simply went useless... If it was Ind batting first, they wouldv scored like around 145 which Pak obv wouldv struggled to chase...

Pakistan wasted a golden opportunity in not making India pay for its mistakes. India totally negated the advantage it had of having multiple spin options on a turning track by bowling only 8 overs of spin when at least 10-12 overs should've been bowled by spinners. Pakistan was let off the hook by India overbowling pace bowlers and allowing Pak to get to 118 when India should've had them for about 100-105 by bowling more spin.

One thing I see a huge issue with Pakistan is fielding. You simply can't compete in today's day and age if you can't field well and you only have to look at Indian newcomers in Pandya how important it is to field well. And then you see likes of Sharjeel Khan, Mohd Irfan etc. roaming in the field for Pakistan. The contrast couldn't be any more stark and if I'm a Pak selector I would drop any player who's fat and unfit. I'm sure you will find better replacements for the likes of Sharjeel and Mohd Irfan.

It was overall like Asia cup match repeat...

More or less yes. Change seaming paradise to a rank turner and you almost had a replay. Though this time India wasted a chance to keep Pakistan to 100-105 by overbowling pacers and allowing Pak to reach 118.

Tbh 2012 WT20, 2014 WT20, 2013 CT, 2016 Asia Cup and 2016 WT20 have all followed the same script. Pakistan get below par total. India chase it down quite easily after some wobbles with Kohli being an integral part. Except Asia cup has been unbeaten in all of them too.

I think the biggest thing is, they always underestimate our bowling and focus on our batting. Virat is one of the best but 118 in 18 overs with 10 wickets is hardly going to challenge top teams. All our T20 WC against Pak were won by our bowling

On that pitch 118 was a good score (helped by some dumb captaincy). It is 6.5 RPO. Of the top 5, no one except Kohli scored at that rate. Yuvi scored at 6.2 (iirc) and got out trying to maintain that

PAK also did not hv a decent spinner in the side

Our bowling has always been disciplined and IMO we should've restricted Pak to a lower total had we maximised our spin options.

It would have not made any difference even if Pakistan had played Imad. He is not a good spinner. Its baffling that Pak selectors have not picked more spinners for a tournament that's happening in India and instead selected so many pacers. Doesn't Pak have any good spinners?
