He did come out and say that guy is not a business partner.It is known that he was his business partner earlier(restaurant) and a friend . As a person who has been made a 'Bharat Ratna' and who is a RS member ,it is pretty sad that he still does not understand what this kind of conduct does to his image. His track record of trying to evade taxes ,his complete lack of involvement as a Rajya Sabha member and now this lobbying and trying to influence a decision in favor of his ex partner show him in very bad light. You just have to read the comment following these articles to see how low the opinions are about his conduct. The ferrari case was a clear gift for him which he didnt want to pay taxes on, which idiot pays taxes on gifts. Yet this is portrayed as a negative. A meeting which we hear only one side of is now used to take pot shots at him. Taking pot shots at Sachin is not going to show Dravid in a better light. Against these we have many, many instances of charity Sachin has done, helped people in need, helped players in need, poor people but of course Radhika ji will ignore all of them and call him a small man. He is a 'Bharat Ratna' whether he deserves it not....and should not indulge in garden variety cheap acts. I am disappointed at the Defense minister to even indulge him on this issue.Thankfully he gave the request the treatment it deserved. @diga...this has been in the news for sometime.Did not want to be accused of posting anti Tendulkar stuff,so refrained from posting it....but couldn't stop myself commenting on it. Just because he is a cricketing icon why can't he look out for himself? Bharat Ratna is given for someone who has accomplished a lot for the country not for being a saint.Pt.Ravishankar had an affair with another woman while he was married....should Bharat Ratna revoked for him too? I am not defending what he did here but Anti-Sachin bais almost reaches vendetta levels at times.

Personal affairs are not comparable to attempted corruption and nepotism. Trying to influence a public servant...that to a cabinet minister to consider his friends case which is a case involving national and public interest(defense land) falls under that head. It says matter involving illegal construction...don't see more details...it could be blocked due to various conflicts and agendas under that name ...again this is an assumption as I am not able to open that link at work. Not like the land was allotted to laborers or slum dwellers from what I can presume because I can imagine the backlash would be 10 times worse. Anyways I have no issues in calling spade a spade and saying that SRT should have distanced himself from this but personal character assassination calling him a small and petty man is uncalled for.....who doesn't look out for friends and family?

While many take this 'meeting' as yet another occasion to take potshots at Sachin Tendulkar, no one seems disturbed by the fact that the Defense Minister of India finds the time to deal with such petty issues when an Indian Airforce transport vehicle is missing for some 2-3 days and Kashmir is on the boil for the better part of the last 20 days. Misplaced priorities. If anything, this meeting reflects very poorly on Mr. Parrikar, not Sachin Tendulkar. maniac 1

Kashmir is mostly home ministers domain . The minister could have met him as a courtesy because he is a Rajya Sabha member ......still a bad move.

Its very pathetic that a guy who was given a bharat ratna can stoop to lobbying with a cabinet minister about an illegal construction, however legal it is, it is still low for Sachin. And MR. Parrikhar can not be blamed its not that Sachin would have told him prior to meeting what the agenda would be, and even if he did you dont expect Mr. Parrikhar to snub Sachin without a meeting, protocol and basic decency to an a former parliament member/Icon like Sachin demands it.
