Vijay did not have that issue till the Australia tour Against England in 2016, he got out twice trying to defend bouncers on slow tracks Had similar issues in the NZ series also, although he did not get dismissed there You see, in cricket, batsmen pick up bad habits and the good ones overcome them again. It is not a constant thing. Rahane was a very good player of the short ball but had trouble in the NZ series and is playing them well again. Edited March 19, 2017 by express bowling Mosher 1

He could have easily tried a new guy when Saha did not score in some games but he has always backed Saha right when he took over the captaincy. It is not that Saha was the greatest Indian domestic player, but Kohli knew this guy is going to come handy for India down the line. Brilliant by Saha. I hope he has earned his slot back and Kohli doesn't send Ashwin ahead anymore.

Gollum Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 (edited) How the hell has he debuted so late considering how mediocre our previous skipper cum keeper was? Sent from my SM-G350E using Tapatalk Edited March 19, 2017 by Gollum

What?? Dude, that's just a thoughtless pot-shot toyger style. And that too at a Bengali. Raise your standards.

WC2011INDIA Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 So far this was his best knock. I have a feeling he is going to score a century in Lords one day!
Gollum Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 He has now cemented his spot for at least a couple of years now. Best keeper in the planet and a handy bat too. Just needs backing from management and watch him thrive in international cricket. King Tendulkar and New guy 2

Saha scored 54 not out and 58 not out on a green, up and down, Eden gardens track against a good NZ seam attack. He was the man of the match in that test 11 hours ago, Sidhoni said: Right. Texan Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Great innings under pressure against a good opposition. Hope this innings gives him the confidence to bat better now and get that average up to 35.

Yes, overall career average is important because it represents the faith put by the team management in your future performances despite not doing well. You need to provide some proof at a later point of time that you are good enough to justify that faith. You are judged as a cricketer based on your overall performances through your career and not based on spikes and throughs. Sidhoni 1
