gakgupta Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 What career...he is already 30+....yup...I agree.... Yet...this will add lot of confidence and self belief and you might see little more confident Saha both terms of wicket keeping and batting I always thought he is good enough batsmen and he needed a big score Well...time will tell....if he is better than dhoni in test matches....but I think he is certainly better esp in away tours Sent from my XT1068 using Tapatalk tweaker, MCcricket and helperononline 3
Laaloo Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 He's already better than Dhoni in test matches. No question about it. New guy, sscomp32 and MCcricket 2 1
tweaker Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 He has really impressed with his inning today. He & Ashwin has saved Kohli more embarrassment about his decision in this match. helperononline, New guy, express bowling and 1 other 4
tweaker Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 He has now stopped the speculation about wicket keeper for some time. Now as his place is secured,he can play his game more freely express bowling and New guy 2
sandeep Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Why does he need to be better than Dhoni. I will take a Keeper of his quality behind the stumps who can average around mid-30s with the bat. Not every keeper can be Gilchrist. Thats what made Gilly an ATG. This Indian team with Ashwin at #6/7 and Bhuvi @ #8 can accomodate Saha if he plays at Moin Khan or Brad Haddin levels. If he averages around 20 or so, then we replace him. Right now he's doing fine. And deserves to be the incumbent. sscomp32 and tweaker 2
Captain Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 He's a solid player. Might not be the most talented or gracious but definitely a grinder. Even before this innings, he was playing well but was throwing away his starts. He's nailed down the WK spot and hope that confidence allows him to do well without the pressure of playing for his spot. 7 more runs and he'll have an overseas Test century which is pretty rare for an Indian WK. tweaker and express bowling 2
Ankit_sharma03 Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Lets hope it is. But lets not also jump guns so soon. One thing is for sure the is guy is a terrific keeper. tweaker 1
gakgupta Posted August 10, 2016 Author Posted August 10, 2016 Well done Saha ..... Wonderful century Sent from my XT1068 using Tapatalk

Rare! Only Ratra has done it before
G_B_ Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 I would not say career defining, but he has certainly held onto the gloves or position for 2-3 series more.... Career defining I guess you need better opposition. Bleed-Blue and tweaker 2
Bleed-Blue Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 (edited) Not entirely convinced he is the long term option but he has brought himself time atleast, nevertheless very good gritty innings under pressure. Edited August 10, 2016 by Bleed-Blue
express bowling Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 (edited) This century from Saha ( and Ashwin ) is special because it is on a tough pitch overseas, with his team in deep trouble. He displayed ideal test match temperament, grinding it out during difficult times and stepping on the gas when things got easier. This innings will give confidence to Saha as well as give confidence to the team management about him. These twin innings, by Saha and Ashwin, bodes well for our 5-batsman strategy. MCcricket Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 (edited) He is a better keeper n a better test batsmen then Dhoni n that is for sure, also seems to be a good thinker n bats per situation , in the long runs away he will average more then Dhawan, Rohit n Co, Dhoni bhakts please note he averages 28 away from sub continent n that too in a long career Edited August 11, 2016 by MCcricket
NameGoesHere Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 (edited) Good innings, outstnding keeper but let's not burden him under the weight of exaggerated batting expectations. Just examine his batting stance, trigger movement, feet and bat position when playing- in my humble opinion, he's at best a late 20s early 30s something average man (over a career), which is not too shabby. So expect useful, below the radar kind of score, but not too many standout games with the bat like this one. Edited August 11, 2016 by NameGoesHere G_B_ and tweaker 2
