After years of terror strikes supported by Pakistan, the Indian Army has hit back with a textbook surgical strike that caused heavy casualties including 2 Pakistani soldiers, and destroyed seven terror camps. Latest imagery suggests that the number of casualties of terrorists across the LoC is around 50.

Ghatak platoon of 6 Bihar and 10 Dogra units were made part of the surgical operations as they were familiar with the terrain. It also gave them a sense of responsibility in avenging the deaths of their fellow jawans. Both units suffered losses in the Uri terror attack on September, 18.

Few hours after the surgical strikes in PoK, Pakistan government has released the photographs of 2 dead soldiers. They have been identified as Havildar Jumma Khan and Naik Imtiaz.

Meanwhile, the Indian Army has issued a statement, saying one soldier from 37 RR with weapons inadvertently crossed over to the other side of the LoC. It has denied reports of any Indian casualties.

India Today has got exclusive details of the inside story behind the surgical strikes.

Opinion: Indian Army's surgical strikes should make Pakistan think twice before trying another Uri

It was around midnight, when the Army's Dhruv Advanced Light Helicopters with 25 commandos from 4-para and 9-para crossed the LoC into Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The helicopters dropped the commandos at earmarked spots and returned. They were now in enemy territory.

No she is not. Check the other tweets, these are just reporting facts and the quotes are because she is quoting the army directly.

In that case the two are separate issues. And soldiers do occasionally get caught by other side but generally sent back next day. She has made it look as single issue

Lets wait and see what the real news is. Give it time to settle, as the media is over-eager to run stories. Some good sources are saying it didnt involve helicopters, it was a HAHO jump from our side of the LoC into their side.

in which case I think helicopter were probably not involved.  If they were involved IMO our army tacticians just saw a big hole in the Pakistani defence and should be credied.

Within range of artillery as well. Though terrain needs to be taken into account as well. The M777 we recently purchased were ultra light ones meant for high altitudes. These camps are well within range as well. Must be the mountains. Thats all I can think of.

Very good to see every political party and every citizen of India lending full support to our government and our army for this special forces operation.

Pakistani are rattled that the celebs came out in support of the strikes.Pakistani have been brain washed into believing that this is all Modi ki Saazish and that there is no support for this among the common people.

Their media also came out with a report that any attack on Pakistan will cause a muslim uprising in India.

Now they are condemning these statements of Indian celebs.

Praise where its due. Its a case of Modi leaving them speechless. For years we have been listening our Congress leaders, again and again about a reaction to Pakistani sponsored terrorism with absolutely zero action.

More apt will be for PM to bin the Indus water treaty into garbage as Pakistanis have never followed the provisos of it.

too much bollywood...

or ind looks too much inspired by Zaid Hamid :hmmmm2:

Instead of rubbishing it, you should think why now? Just a year back Modi was visiting Sharif's home for peace. Or Has Pakistan sold itself so much to China (CPEC,point of no return) that Americans dont care what India does on its border.
