Tendulkar proposes using two different pitches for every Ranji Trophy game

BCCI should do something about the crumbling nature of a pitch. Rank Turners are fine but as long as bounce remains constant through out the match. As of now its bit of a lottery for batting sides.

This is better than the last idea srt had of having 2 innings in odi. Best part about a long format is when the pitch deteriorates....this idea takes away from it. If the idea is to have a deteriorating pitch just on purpose as your 2nd pitch then the games become a lottery. Good intention but will not work.

How would the bowlers learn the art of setting up batsmen on unhelpful pitches ?

If the pitches are green top in first innings and rank turners in 2nd in as Sachin suggest we will only end up with trundlers and darters .

Absolutely absurd idea this .

This is easier to implement. Additionally, bowlers need to practice bowling on a few flat tracks too. But, it has to be seen that all the teams get to play on different types of surfaces and with different balls. League match schedule management becomes important here.

 

I hope, the idea of using different balls and different types of pitches are used by the BCCI.  A big name, like Tendulkar, proposing this may help. I really wanted there 2 aspects introduced for a long time.

dhoni, sachin are like sorry to say this but frogs in a well... as far as taking the game of cricket to the next level is concerned.

Actually Sachin's idead are very genius but always impractical, almost like a mad scientist's.

It isn't genius rather absurd because he only thinking about batsman's perspective

u are underestimating polymer science

If there is a will, i think this idea can be implemented looking into issues like protecting other pitch, degree of flatness/ turner or no issue second inning pitch will be.
