Source of stats?  Very useful.  

 

Top teams don't have these kinds of shocking numbers.  This is a big area of improvement for us, along with Kohli's on-field tactics.  The latter will hopefully take care of itself over time - but the drops can easily be improved by 50 % or higher.  Just very, very poor.

Those saha dropped catches off of Stokes cost us a 5-0 series win. That was pathetic.

Shocking number of catches dropped. Ground fielding is good but the catching has been really poor. Cant afford to drop catches and expect to win especially when we tour overseas.

• Like the edge off Stokes induced by Umesh  that flew through 2nd slip yesterday, with a 1st and a 3rd slip standing in a spread formation.

• Many other such catches in this series off pacers

• Numerous lobs to short leg with no-one there....off  both pacers and spinners.

Thats where i am disappointed with kohli.He should just keep it simple .Findout how many slips he can afford and put them in sequence.

Yep. Virat should go back to placing traditional slip catching positions. The big gap between 1st slip and 3rd slip is not working.

Rahul dropped Butler as soon as he arrived in the 2nd innings. It was a difficult chance (there was some doubt if there was bat involved) ballooned from the pad. he had both hands but spilled because of the stretch. These are catch-able in FSL, Sillypoint.

Excellent post, Umesh and Shami bowled lot better than their final figures. Umesh needs to take this series experience to develop into more consistent threat.

at some level Indian slip catchers and fielders at catching positions are not used to chance inducing 140 k fast bowling, that could be the only reason for 10 drops and such fielding position lapses, spinners mostly done in by WK.
