You know things which a good captain is supposed to do. Even if they pick up 1 or 2 wickets in a test match he makes sure to praise them in post match interviews. Just have a look at this interview too. Praising Umesh's spell in the 1st innings, Ishant 's spell in the 2nd innings and BK's improvement in reverse swing. Yes, he clearly has a better understanding of the game in Test cricket and give impirtance to little things which many forget. Just today like he mentioned things like "Ishant was bowling well with the old ball and has been doing it a lot recently." These are things which go unnoticed but he instill passion among bowlers when he praise them like that and it also gives bowlers a sense of security and promise from their captain.
Sachinism Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Kohli being properly tested for the first time. Losing patience with fielders (understandably) Taking desperate reviews. It seems he likes to go with a gut feel rather than logic with the reviews generally. But now the desperation is showing Sidhoni, express bowling and Lord 3

Hope AK and SB calm him down after the day's play, and they can regroup on Day 3. And I don't even know that if it's fair to say that *he* is having a bad day. If one were to guess, the appalling catching has precipitated his anger. He sees it as a lack of commitment and it's pi**ing him off. Edited February 24, 2017 by Moth2Flame Mosher 1

I am glad Kohli showed little frustration on fielders(it wasn't a lot though). Fielders wanted to go back to pavilion after the collapse so they were being lazy and hence Kohli had to remind them that we got to field another session and take wickets before we go to the hotel. So glad Kohli did show little frustration and gave them heads up and reminded them to gather themselves back. Mosher 1

We must learn to take the reviews based on logic and not impulsively or based on gut feeling. That would bode well for our team in the long run. That is the only issue here. Otherwise, one bad day or even one bad match is allowed for every team....not a big deal. speedheat and Mosher 2
CG Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 I liked how they increased the tempo and bowled in 2 innings it was relentless we had over rate of 22 .We had so many drops other wise Aussie would have been bowled out.

Faster over rate doesn't mean being relentless. If they took half catches then that would have been a relentless display, instead they shelled a lot of straight forward catches. Smith itself was let off 4 times if I remember correct. Lord 1

Cricketics Posted March 7, 2017 Author Posted March 7, 2017 Brilliant captaincy. Brilliant use of pacers from one end and spinners from the other in the first inning. People were criticizing him of using seamers when even Hazlewood and Starc proved that pacers can be as effective here. Well Done Kohli and India. Captain is counter attacking Laaloo, Gambit, Mosher and 1 other 4
Mosher Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Congrats Kohli and India! Great comeback. But job is still half done. Need to show the same intensity in the next matches too. Cricketics, Laaloo and express bowling 3
