Fans can pant-gasm (patent pending) for all these hyped names all they want.  Road map to Team India is pretty much known to all upcoming players and serious observers of Indian cricket.  u-19 Cricket to First Class cricket to Zonal Tournaments to IPL and 'A' tour/Challenger games to opportunity with senior team.  Its a pretty structured route, with plenty of opportunities for selectors and team management to evaluate a player as completely as possible.

See a pattern here-A Mystery bowler,A WK-bat,A fast bowler and fast bowling allrounder. Pretty much checks every category we are in dire need of.

Not sure . Thampi hype seems based on grainy videos , dodgy speed guns v some poor batsman .

The most hilarious thing everyone where praising Pandya,Dhoni and Nehra for suggesting/executing the gameplan of bowling length balls in that Bangladesh game in WT20.

 

It turned out that Pandya himself said,he was asked to bowl yorkers  his inability was beaten using the OP's words by a mile high by the Bangladeshis

one game he bowled well one game he bowled bad happens to any one especially someone who is starting his career. He needs to play more for opinions, there is no hype in his case. He bowled 140+ inswing and people shared it thats all.

Pandya shot to prominence on the back of a break-out IPL season, followed by a MVP type dominant performance in multiple games in previous Syed Mushtaq Ali tourney.  That led to T20 debut, where quality performances led to an ODI Cap.   Frogs and Empty vessels can keep spouting nonsense, but facts are facts.

Cricket Acumen and english comprehension died a graphic death here...it fell of a cliff,bounced off a boulder when it crashed and then impaled itself onto a tree stump...while fighting for it's life it's head was bitten off by a mountain leopard. sorry had to be a less graphic given this is a family website.

 

WHo says Pandya didn't deserve to be in the T20 scheme of things.....it was when people were campaigning him to be in test squads and have a guaranteed shot in the starting line up was lol worthy...especially even after the follow up IPL and Domestic seasons he didn't do much of note.

Almost all  the names discussed in ICF for Team India inclusion have made it through most of  these steps.

If the OP has read few posts clearly then he should know that no one has asked players like Thampi and Sangwan to be drafted into Indian team.

 

People have only shared information about certain players that they are bowling fast and should be given more chances.

 

Giving chances at "A" level and being drafted to Indian team are two different things so OP is basically twisting things.

 

 

If someone says that Thampi should be playing for India against Australia, that is considered hyping, but no one has said that. A thread where every content which has been posted wrong.

No....Thampi played SMA Trophy and 4 of his full matches have been telecasted.

 

Just because you have not seen them does not mean others have not.

Despite that likes of Sandhu bowls at 105K's lol......Anyway no one suggesting Thampi to be in the international side...he has shown that he is a rare breed who has a quick pace and killer yorkers and bouncers .

 

Just like Pant's other worldly strike rate and average.

 

You can bash only what you have in front of you...but Pant has already shown he can take apart international bowlers...with Thampi give him a shot by promoting him to the next level like A games etc. to see how he does.

Pretty much sums it up.

 

Pant was asked to be in internationals because he checked a lot of boxes...glorious IPL,other-worldly stats in domestics,proven in A games etc etc. so no hype there either...it was what it was very transparent.

Yep......also there is a system of identifying raw talent and groom them and Thampi is in that category...don't think anyone has hyped him to start opening the bowling in test cricket.

 

He has shown a rare potential which is so far and in between in Indian cricket and is rightfully identified by the fans.

Looks like our selectors, captain and coach think highly of them too.....and it is not just fans on  ICF

And isn't that a positive?  I for one, am glad that in a screwed up politics ridden country like India, the cricket selection is reasonably structured and the merit-based prospects appear to be getting through for the most part.
