The latest hypes are Basil Thampi : Looked fantastic in what i saw. Hope to see him more. Aniket Choudhury : sorry ICF experts but i see absolutely nothing special in him to be called better than the best swing bowler in the country. He hasnt even been able to get an ipl contract yet. I will wait to see how he does in IPL against international batsman (If he is picked). Risabh Pant : Dont completely agree but he must be good to be consistent. have to wait and ssee, hope he justifies the hype. Kuldeep Yadav : Over to you @Lord Add more names and discuss You forgot the evergreen/eternal hype boy of ICF, The torch bearer / posterboy of this hype brigade Umesh "Performs once in a while but phhhasssstttt" Yadav. Infact even i was hyped for him in 2010 T20 WC and wass angry at the team for not playing him in bouncy pitches of barbados. Then came Bhuvi and opened my eyes and how things have changed now. He is hyped because he has built some muscles.Focus is only on speed now bowling gayi tel lene. Basil thumpi is another one though I admit I haven't watched enough of him to ridicule the hype he is generating. Here is ICF hype list of the week in decreasing order of hype: 1.Pant 2.Kuldeep 3.Basil thampi 4.Aniket Chaudhary 5.P Sanghwan 6.I Sharma (Honourable mention ) Edited February 14, 2017 by Pollack New guy 1

Pant's domestic and FC stats speak for themselves. Kuldeep is a chinaman bowler a rarity in World Cricket and has proved his worth in IPL as well as in every other shot he has had similarly,Pandya who is a rare breed of a bowler wo can hit 135+,has battign ability and a power hitter. See a pattern here-A Mystery bowler,A WK-bat,A fast bowler and fast bowling allrounder. Pretty much checks every category we are in dire need of. express bowling Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 A high percentage of players with potential won't succeed in international cricket........because there is the issue of temperament which does not become clear until a player actual plays international cricket. That is how international sports work. New guy, Rightarmfast and Mosher 3

Agree.....but unfortunately Mental strength is neither something that can be taught or something that can be tangibly measured...but if you have the skill and technique that is half the battle won.
maniac Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 To be honest if there was an award then Pandya is the hands down winner lol...never before have I seen a player being hyped without any actual performances. He was an allrounder who had "potential" with both bat and ball...not a batsman who had a decent potential with the ball or vice-versa...just straight up "allround" potential who should get a test slot. Mental strength, will to succeed, fitness, focus, reasonable intelligence etc......all are required in addition to talent. We won't know about them until a cricketer actually spends time in international cricket. Still, it is worth discussing new talent ..... it is far better and more exciting than just discussing established players whom everyone know about, watching all day and there are 100s of articles written about them.
