West Bengal is sitting on a terror tinderbox. The signs of it have long been evident but successive governments have chosen to live in denial and allowed the problem to fester. A latest report on the terror heatmap in southeast Asia paints a very worrying picture for India.

The Bangladesh government report which has been sent to the Union home ministry confirms that Bengal, along with Assam and Tripura, form part of an intricate terror network where Bangladesh-based modules have found safe havens due to the porosity of Indo-Bangladesh border.

 

West Bengal shares 2200 km of it, and has turned out to be one of the most suitable route for terror operatives from Harkat-ul-Jihadi al-Islami (HuJI) and Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) to sneak through.

Bengal's demography and conveniently located cities offer them relocation and cover. As the Sheikh Hasina government turns up the heat on home-grown terrorists (some with Al-Qaeda and Islamic State links), many of these operatives are infiltrating into the state along with arms and ammunition and spreading in various parts of India using the connectivity that Kolkata provides.

A grim situation has turned even more grim for India owing to the Bangladesh Prime Minister's resolve to fight militancy with an iron hand. Wounded by Bangladesh's global notoriety due to a spate of fatal attacks on secular bloggers and determined to put an end to Khaleda Zia's policy of stoking fundamentalism to further political prowess, Hasina had ordered stern action against Islamists. The process, which started in right earnest last year, has continued with the Bangladesh PM showing steely resolve.

 

More than 3000 history-sheeters and 37 hard core terrorists were arrested in June alone last year in a nationwide crackdown. Hasina, according to PTI, told a meeting of her ruling Awami League that terrorists won't have anywhere to hide. "Where will they hide in Bangladesh.. No one will get away. Bangladesh is a small country. It's not a tough task to find them. They will be brought to justice."

Except that they did escape. And found an easy avenue through Bengal on the other side of international border.

The report on JMB and HuJI's terror activities, carried by Times of India, details that there was a three-fold increase in terror infiltration in 2016 compared to the year before. While nearly 2,010 HuJI and JMB operatives entered through the three states, the newspaper report says approximately 720 entered through Bengal border alone. It says Bengal government officials are "skeptical" about the report, "but even if just a close estimate, the number is disturbing as intelligence reports pegged the number of infiltrators in 2014 and 2015 at 800 and 659, respectively."

The NIA, incidentally, had found direct link between the October 2014 blast in Bengal's Burdwan district where two JMB operatives were killed and a third injured. Cops had recovered improvised explosive devices, RDX, wrist watches and SIM cards from the site.

This isn’t a report prepared by India's homeland security agencies that Trinamool Congress may find some political motives. This is advice forwarded by a friendly neighbourhood nation that is grappling with Islamism and its tools of coercion and wants India to at least stop being a safe house, if not aid in flushing out the operatives.

Unfortunately, Bengal still remains in a mode of denial. Instead of tightening its security apparatus, it is trying reportedly to ascertain the "veracity" of the advice. As TOI points out, Assam appears to be more receptive. The state police has already arrested 54 JMB operatives and "formed a high-powered committee of top police officers and MLAs to check infiltration."

The Mamata Banerjee government needs to be reminded that one of the terror masterminds of the infamous Dhaka Gulshan Café blast stayed in a hotel in Bengal. The attack, which has later been established as Islamic State handiwork, was planned and executed by a group of terrorists led by Tamim Chowdhury, a Bangladeshi-Canadian Islamic State operative who was finally shot dead by Bangladesh police last year in Dhaka.

It is believed that Tamim and JMB leader Mohammed Suleiman, both of whom were the key players in the Gulshan Café attack that killed 29 people including foreigners, travelled to India shortly before the attack and met Indian national Abu Musa in Malda, a border district in Bengal. According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, Suleiman and his companion (believed to be Tamim) also stayed at a hotel in Bengal.

If more evidence of the intricacy of this terror web is required, Kolkata police in March arrested another suspect of the Gulshan Café attack. Idris Ali, according to a report in India Today, was arrested from the city's Burrabazar area by a special task force which acted on a tip-off from Delhi's special cell.

The problem with illegal immigrants in Bengal is as much a security issue as it is a political one. The RSS has already made it one of their chief planks and sees enough political leverage to spread its base in the state. It recently passed a resolution at the end of its three-day national council meet in Coimbatore.

Unfortunately, the state government too sees the issue from a political filter, entirely ignoring the security-related repercussions. The Bangladesh report should come as a timely wake-up call for Mamata Banerjee. She needs to rise above partisan politics in national interest.

The numbers in the articles are staggeringly high, 10 times the number of active terrorists in Kashmir. As an Indian I am ashamed that West Bengal is providing safe havens for HuJI and JMB scum. We accuse Pakistan of harboring anti India elements but here Mamata is doing the same, she is harboring some of the most violent extremists who want to uproot Bangladesh. Sheikh Hasina is 10 times the leader as her Western counterpart. Seriously hope we have a heavy counter terror op there and exterminate the vermin who threaten the peace and stability of the entire region. This nonsense can't continue. Mamata is a darling of our presstitutes and liberals but this cannot be swept under the carpet any longer. Bengalis, open your eyes or your future generations will suffer.Seriously wish Modi imposes Article 356 in this state and all the extremists are wiped out.

Hasina is the best Bengali Leader,  True Secularist who always keeps the extremist elements under check,  doesn't hesitate to take actions against them , no appeasement of Mullahs and has been a vocal advocate of Secularism and Equality in her country. She's Anti- Extremist,  Anti-Pakistani , Pro-Indian.....truly inspirational personality. 

 

 

OTOH,  the so called West Bengal has produced leaders like the Communists and now Momta di who would sell off the state to Illegal migrants as long as they continue to hold power.

Any other future predictions regarding WB?  Will it be over-run by Islamist's in the future and finally secede from the Indian Union?  If yes,  then by which year do you see that happening ?  If no,  then who will reverse the Islamization  of the state?

It is between Bengal and Kerala. I can see large scale riots in WB in coming years. The divide goes quite deep. Didi is playing with fire and it will burn her along with large chunk of the state. Kerala actually has villages where they have their independent Sharia being practiced. Wahhabism is taking roots there and branching out too. Mangalore also I wouldn't rule out.

Having been born and brought up in WB (though not a Bengali) I can say with full confidence that it isn't going to secede from India in our lifetimes. But there will be lots of communal riots and ethnic cleansing in some areas. It is in a really messed up state now. From being the cradle of social reforms, religious reforms, Indian renaissance, freedom struggle to Mamatagiri, no state in India has taken a bigger fall in the past 200 years.

However, these days she is having cucumber and (muri) puffed rice, so shall we also eat the same."

Threatening to violate the Centre's order banning red beacon, Barkati said that he will continue to use the red beacon as permission for it was given by the erstwhile British government.

"I am a Shahi Imam and hence I won't give up red beacon despite court's order. All Shahi Imams have been using 'lal batti' and nobody has ever objected to it," Imam Barkati said.

According to the Modi government's order, after May 1, no one will be able to put red light atop his/her vehicle. Blue light will be used only for emergency vehicles in the country...Neither the states nor the Centre will have power to give any special permission (for use of beacon lights).

PM had said that every Indian is a VIP and the culture of beacons on vehicles carrying dignitaries should have gone long ago.

Earlier, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat had said that India is a “Hindu Rashtra” and there is a need to organise all Hindus in the country for which this is “favourable time”.

 

This traitor in the past(before 2011 Assembly elections in WB) also asked Muslims of WB to wage jihad on Hindu Bengalis. He is such a fanatic that I am surprised he isn't behind bars now. He is a close adviser of Mamata and is responsible for Islamization of text books. From threatening to behead PM Modi, Tarek Fatah, BJP leaders to threatening jihad against India.....how do Bengali bhadralok tolerate this nonsense?

 

I am surprised media has not played up the imminent threat TMC poses to India. Robert Vadra, Tharoor, Kejriwal,etc are small fish, they are nothing compared to the evil that is TMC. Even Left was better than this TMC.

The West Bengal government seems to be entering into truly uncharted territories with its policies. While Syed Mohammad Nurur Rahman Barkati — the Shahi Imam of the Tipu Sultan Masjid of Kolkata who issued a fatwa against Prime Minister Narendra Modi — has now "excommunicated" Muslims working with the BJP and its parent organisation, the RSS, it has now emerged that textbooks of state-run schools are promoting the Islamised names for parents and members of the family, among other things.

West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee has been slammed on a number of occasions for steps that have led to communalisation of the state. However, with Imam Barkati — who receives TMC patronage, as was evident from the press conference called by a TMC leader when he delivered the fatwa on PM Modi — and other steps, she is coming in for renewed criticism.

Barkati's latest edict

Imam Barkati's latest edict targets Muslims who work for the BJP and the RSS. He has said that such people — including Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs (Independent Charge) Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi — are not Muslims, because they work for "communal forces."

Speaking on Friday at a gathering at the Tipu Sultan Masjid that was discussing communal and secular forces, he also "excommunicated" these people, besides specifically adding that Naqvi was "not a Muslim."

Changes in textbooks

What has really got people talking is how certain terms in school textbooks have been changed to reflect their Islamised versions, or modified in a manner that they do not appear Bengali. A prime example of the latter is in the Class VII physics text book, where the Bengali word for a rainbow has been inexplicably changed to a word that cannot be found in any Bengali dictionary!

The chapter on refraction of light should talk of the rainbow as Ramdhonu — a reference to how the rainbow looks arched like the bow of Lord Ram. Instead, it talks of Rongdhone — essentially a bow of colours, as Rong is colour in Bengali.

The weird change has led to memes on social media, where any Ram is replaced by Rong. One hilarious example is actor Arjun Rampal being called Arjun Rongpal! And even politician Ramvilas Paswan has been rechristened Rongvilas Paswan.

Another change is in the name for the colour blue, which has been mentioned as Asmani — the colour of the sky, with the word used for sky showing its roots — instead of the simple Neel.

What is also getting to Bengali-speaking populace is the degree of the changes in a Class III text book, where the names of parents and relatives have been changed from Ma, Baba, Da et al to Amma, Abba, Bhaiya, and others, respectively.

The reason the government and Mamata Banerjee are being blamed for this "Islamisation" is that these changes have come into effect on the recommendations of a panel of experts chosen by Banerjee herself in 2011 to suggest changes that would improve the standards of the West Bengal secondary and higher secondary education.

Now even 'Ram' is taboo in Bengal schoolbooks. 

Add to that TMC govt has banned Mahabharat-Ramayan from being taught in all government schools, even Vedic schools. But somehow madrassahs are fine because they apparently don't teach about religion . TMC set to give license to 1 lakh madrassahs and an allocation of 20,000 crores for them and to replace Bengali medium with Arabic medium. 

Another thing, present Minister of Mass Education and Library in Mamata govt Siddiquallah Chowdhury(right in the picture) is gen-sec of Jamiat-Ulema-Hind.

That is the difference between Indian Leaders and the leaders of Islamic nations the Indian ones will sell out their own people and religion for money whereas leaders in Islamic countries will at least do anything to preserve their religion and culture.

 

Here in the UK Indian (Hindu and Sikh) shops will sell Islamic goods and halal meat whereas muslims will never do the reverse. So you can see who will win when it is all one way traffic.

 

Stop thinking about money and think about your culture, it will be gone one day if you don't do anything about it.

 

One day Hindus in Bengal may finally grow a pair of balls and there could be Burma style violence if things don't get under control.

You can only wake up a person who is asleep. What can you do with a person who is pretending to be asleep? Take a look at the political mindset of most Bengali youth today esp their so called intellectual youth. They were cheering for Yakub and Afzal in Jadavpur University last year(not Kashmiri students or Muslims but our very own Bengali gen next bhadralok there), gone case.

Bhadrolok does not mean spineless. Subhash Bose was a bhadralok too but he had balls and Gandhis & Nehrus hated him for that. That generation is gone. This new generation is spineless, selfish bunch of cowards who lacks any originality or pride in their own culture. Bengal is finished.
