If you dont think run-outs, fielding, catches dont win matches then i dont know how to explain you.. Warne was saying Jaddu would be the second man he would put in after Kohli from this team.. It was just an off day in final..

You Sir are a ***t...  why not bloody have all 11 as MKaif and Jadejas in your team... I rather have an awesome spinner like Kuldeep or awesome allroudner like Krunal Pandya in my team over the Warne ka rockstar Jadeja..

We need him in Indian Odis but not for 2019WC

As rahul said in the OP, we need to treat him as a specialist bowler and not as a hitter/bowler because unlike Faulkner, afridi this fellow cannot be our 5th gear at the end..

Jadeja deserves his spot.

Yeh he had a pretty shitty day, that wasn't helped by poor selection and poor captaincy.

Never been a huge fan of him, but he's turned in some pretty decent bowling performances.

I agree about his batting being mediocre.

Thats my problem right there..

If you treat him as a specialist bowler, how can you average 36 after playing 150 matches in your career...Even Afridi faired better than that and we made fun of him so much!!

There are much better specialist bowlers ( Kuldeep Yadav, Krunal Pandya, Washinton) or bowling allrounders (Krunal Pandya and Washington) than this looser

Exactly I agree with you, since a specialist cannot be without a plan b or complete lack of imagination in tough situations...he should move on

PCB and BCCI are both quiet same to be honest ,however, Pakistan made some real brave decision to pick youngster at the right time ,which is why they won. If India invest in talent like pandey than i am sure India will have more good results.

In the last 2 years in ODIs, Jadeja has taken only 11 wickets from 14 matches at an average of 62 and an ER of 5.4

In the last 2 years in ODIs, Ashwin has taken only 10 wickets from 11 matches at an average of 56 and an ER of 5.7

We need new ODI spinners and must change this habit of automatically including test match stars in the other formats.

Miserable stats.

If only the selectors looked at performance data before picking players...

Just shows we are fielding players based on reputation than performance the rock star culture in cricket is destroying us. Also Indian selectors are so dumb they don't know difference between formats. May be its time we have selectors for different formats.

Jadaje and Ashwin arent wicket taking spinners.

We need Wicket tackers .

Preserve Jadeja and Ashwin for tests and bring in wicket takers like Kuldeep and Chahal.

Lol, so how are Kuldeep and Chahal wicket takers? Jadeja/Ashwin are top bowlers in tests so they are enough talent.

What has test performances got to do with ODIs ?

It is a completely different format which requires different skill-sets and mindset.

Both have been average ODI bowlers overall and poor ODI bowlers in the last 2 years.... because they are bowling very defensively.

Too much workload, while playing all formats, on the fingers of finger-spinners didn't help either.

They both still have a decent ODI records and the alternatives you are talking about, are based on IPL T20 exploits. That is a different format as well. We  sureneed to improve our bench strength or the squad depth. But that doesn't mean give up on both of them.

Our weak point is middle overs. If we don't take wickets in first 15 we are screwed. Pretty obvious after srilanka and Bangladesh matches. You need a mix of containing and wicket takers. If there is no variety we will loose big matches also both bowlers are spin track bullies that will keep things in perspective. Have seen Ashwin bowl ? He was bowling on pads of a newbie opener that was atrocious.
