JaFanatic Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 Pant in ODI is a poor selection imo. Batting in the middle order in List As didn't do him any good.

mishra Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 (edited) Nice to see some adjustment. I hope Pant and KD dont warm the bench like DK. Shami needs to get back in rythm, knowing Shami, he wont need more than a game to get back into shape, but still, we could have invited one young pacer and may have played him in dead rubber. vipin Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 This should have been the team.. Pant Shikhar Kohli or Dhoni (c) - other rested Shreyas Iyer Manish Pandey Kedar Jadhav Krunal Pandya/Axar Patel Hardik Pandya Chahal/Kuldeep Shami Thampi/Nathu/Shardul
Pollack Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 The following players must be tested and given match practice before 2019WC: Nathu Singh Kuldeep Yadav Y Chahal K Pandya V Shankar M Pandey

Cricketics Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 I want to see how Pant uses power play to his interest. Even if that means two lefties have to open, its fine, Give him 3 games to open with Shikhar or this whole series, before they decide to bring Pant back down the order.

He is too rookie for now. Avesh is brilliant but very young. Rajpoot and Sran can be included. Kulwant : Depends on how early he is on selector's radar. Remember we need to first try them and give them a bit of experience if they are good enough. So even if any younger bowler like Avesh or kulwant or thampi has one bad season in domestics it would be very difficult for them to make to the squad since we rarely fast track bowlers and domestic stats are given importance for selection. We need to identify 4-5 bowlers 1,2 to included in main 15 and rest as backup There are a lot avg bilateral series were we can try them Thampi for me will only get in if bumrah is injured , he needs to master his strength yorker and then work on his new ball wkt taking ability or else he ll be on bench Avesh looks a match winner to me, need to have plan for him Rajpoot is one guy who can keep it tight in middle overs and has a good brain on his head Sran brings the variety But we need wkt taking bowlers thats were Avesh, nathu, kuldeep has been to be really seen Wc wud be in Eng and again those will be pattas which as the tournament wud progress might start to turn so we wud need bowlers who are wkt taking at the same time have good variations . This is the bunch we need to look at and hopefully no more time wud be wasted on unadkat n dhawal

Vk1 Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 In Pant we are probably looking at a glen Maxwell here plus with a better shot selection. Any other team would have hyped him up to intimidate the opposition. which under 19 cricketer last scored these many first class runs at this strike rate plus a 300 ?

Maxwell's domestic SR isn't as high (also because he played many more matches).
