Is there any way Dhoni can be kept at no. 4 without compromosing hitting power in the end

We all know Kl Rahul is grt talent and we have to bat him in top 4 .. Since Dhoni seems certain to go to world cup wether we like it not, No. 4 is the place wether he at this stage of his carier will be better suited..

 

Dhawan is also in Gud form.. Kl also needed and we need firepowers at the end and may be one as a opener in the era of 350 scores. We dont need too many accumalaters .Plz suggest a way its most beneficial for the team?

Yes. If you want Dhoni in the team you can have him at no 4 in video games without compromising power hitting in the end.

So that he is needed to go after the bowling from the word go.
His single picking ability against spinners has waned down and he will hurt us badly in the middle overs.
If something is still intact somewhat, its his hitting ability in the slog overs.

Even that's doubtful. We have seen his hitting ability in slog overs only against weak Srilankan and West Indian attack. His hitting abilities look intact only against few of the fultosses and half volleys. Otherwise his helicopter doesn't take off on either length balls or fuller deliveries...

This serves two purpose. One dhoni will walk in last over  and we know his love for last over. Second if there is a big batting collapse we have a fairly dependable tuk tuk master in Dhoni at lower order who can also bat intelligently with tailenders.

but dont you agree we need one such player in middle order ,obviously on flat wkts virat needs to be flexible with his batting order

Tbh Dhoni at 4 is a much better option,he can get the time in the middle.Yuvraj at 4 makes the team extremely fragile.

Jadhav has unorthodox technique but it works amazing for him. In place of Yuvi if we bring some technically sound batsman who can accelerate a fair bit dhoni is not required in middle order and its not like dhoni has great technique. I would bet on K L Rahul in place of Yuvi.Pant can also fit in. Vijay Shankar is another option.

Jadhav and Rahul forms a solid middle order. Let's not run behind experience. Its time to give young guys some experience.

I have high hopes on Vijay Shankar as well for that role, looked very good agnst spinners,

On an average Rohit gives the same start as Rahane. Its not like Rohit makes it count always for his initial slow batting.

I think kohli is smart enough to realize dhonis waning powers. We would probably see hardik more and more if top order bats till 37th over. One thing I would like to see is jadhav getting many more chances.
