I was worried about this situation when I read about Kohli having the support of 10 other players on the coach issue. Now, it is payback time in terms of supporting them back. We see similar things in the world around us all the time. Question is.... how long would this last ? lol stop psycho analysing these things . This is got nothing to do with getting rid off kumble , no one except for a few of us even will remember this incident in a months time . Virat has always been like this . Some of you are in denial right now and think some how he will start making all the right calls ? you are going to be disappointed

The first scenario of A supporting B itself is a theory . We dont know really that all 10-15 players ganged up against Kumble , even if they did how do we know it was to show support for Virat . is it not possible Virat was showing support for certain players and possibly the root cause of his rift with Kumble ? and now Virat just continues to show support for his favs ? I have seen that pretty often as well . Rasgulla 1

We dont know really that all 10-15 players ganged up against Kumble , There have been multiple reports saying that around 10 players had backed Kohli in his stance against Kumble. If important players had backed Kumble or stayed neutral, do you think it would have been easy to remove a person of Kumble's stature who has basically won 9 out of the 11 series / tournaments he has been a coach in and came 2nd in another 8 nation tournament ? Quote even if they did how do we know it was to show support for Virat . is it not possible Virat was showing support for certain players and possibly the root cause of his rift with Kumble ? and now Virat just continues to show support for his favs ? I have seen that pretty often as well . Rahane had played only 1 LOI game and was dropped in 10 LOI games till this WI series. Yuvraj was initially asked for by Kumble while the Duleep Trophy was going on. So, that leaves Rohit in test matches.... who has undoubtably been Kohli's choice. Do you think there will be a rift between captain and coach based on one player ? All the other picks have been either unanimous or have had supporters on both sides .... of the one being picked or dropped. Am I missing someone else... please remind me then. bowl_out Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 So, what would have happened if his captain / coach back in the day said the same thing about Kohli and didn't push him up to No. 3?

Excerpts from one of the many articles saying that 10 players had supported Kohli -- " it is now speculated that there are ten players from the current Indian team who are not in favour of Kumble getting an extension. " " An unnamed BCCI official told DNA that these players termed Kumble as "too bossy" and blamed him for "imposing strict standard of inhuman approach while tackling fatigue and injury". It is also reported that only one player has spoken in favour of Kumble. " " One of the players, it is learnt, even claimed that he had to go under the knife due to Kumble's stubborn attitude. Even if they say it is confirmed, it might not be. Almost all things discussed on this issue by us in 15+ threads, as well as by the media and other people , are based on speculation as there has been no official statement by either The BCCI or Kumble or Kohli, clarifying the matter. However, as I said before, the fact that Kumble had to go, despite such spectacular results and his stature, does point to the fact that he was not backed by the players. " One of the players, it is learnt, even claimed that he had to go under the knife due to Kumble's stubborn attitude. " This is harassment and players wouldn't have been quiet about at any stage. Forget about sacking he could have been prosecuted and punished by board.Crap article. Clearly propaganda to malign kumble.Even the general tone of the article is immature and vindictive.

maniac Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 @express bowling let us be subjective here based on how the decision making was in the WI series it's tough to pick one side over the other. Sure both parties might not be the good guys or the bad guys here- nothing to take sides. but simple conclusion -players cannot have complete off field decision making power-not saying dictatorial approach is the answer but clearly the options we have is to chose between living under hitler or living in a lawless jungle. So far under Virat there is absolutely no planning or vision shown Tendu_10, SK_IH and Ankit_sharma03 3

Right now we are in a situation where either the CAC,CAB or BCCI whoever is in charge call a meeting and draw boundaries and define who does what. This Kumble incident has left a bad taste. Even let us say if he was a dictator and the worst human being possible, the attitude from the other end hasn't been very promising either express bowling and Laaloo 2
Sidhoni Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 That article mentions one player was in support of Kumble. There's a greater chance of that player being Dhoni than anyone else IMHO. Since the player is standing up for something alone, it must be someone with spine who commands lot of respect from other players, so cannot be a newcomer. Contenders IMO would be Dhoni, Yuvraj, Ashwin, maybe Vijay and Pujara. Since Kumble was earlier a mentor for Dhoni and Kumble is one of the few seniors Dhoni was always on good terms with, I think there's a strong chance. Tendu_10, sscomp32 and Rasgulla 3
