He was pretty average against us in India last year. And this time the rest of the bowlers look like they may be past it so Moeen bhai cant come in and get cheap wickets whereas Amir could be seduced by Mazhars jacket. Link to comment
Tibarn
The Ashes before this will be big. Some of the English players will make a name for themselves during it while others will be dropped after poor performances there. All eyes will be on Jimmy Anderson. The a poor performance vs the Aussies might force him into retirement. That would make this series much easier for us, although it would be better for us to beat them with him in the squad. Same place where your spin duo could hardly manage a wicket. Link to comment

Don't get sensitive now. Its not India's fault that England decided to use greenbro XI for the practice round instead of their main event. sscomp32 and JaFanatic 2 Link to comment

Do you think major media outlets would dare criticize BCCI for its inept scheduling? Cost-benefit would not work in their favor. IIRC a few years ago, Cricinfo reporters were denied press credentials for a couple of seasons during India home series. What's wrong with planning? You see how things go smoothly and how much hype is created with early announcement of tours/squads.... BCCI here has ppl running it who don't care much about all this. The sqauds are announcement late. Coach are appointed at the last moment and state associations are given very little time to make arrangements. The money is sanctioned only at the last moment. Players don't get enough time for preparations as well as the squads are announced very late. BCCI might be more accountable but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be more professional. rkt.india
Tests in Aug-September which means pitches will be tired and fast bowlers may not be that effective. Spinners might come in to play a lot more. ykvyas 1 Link to comment
rkt.india
People talking about schedule should know that England has a fixed cricket summer and they never tour any other country during their summer. India do not have such liberty and schedule keeps changing. Link to comment
Sooda
Its CRITICAL that the build up to the tour is carefully done. The Asia Cup is just before the tour and I am worried it will end a week or two before the England series starts- that would be a disaster If the Asia Cup- and IPL before it- Needs to happen then there should have been a break of a month after: two week holiday and two weeks on a preparatory camp focussing on skills and fitness and thereafter even if it was a three test tour, so be it at least we'd be well prepared G_B_ 1 Link to comment
