oh booohoooo....

one senior player mocked him on a flight calling him sir garry and Pathan was seldom the same player again ?? lol...

and we need to believe this garbage ? come on..

So true.He must have heard MC-BC gaalis while playing in domestics and also would have got plenty of stick from Australians. If you are a softie who could get demoralized by somebody calling you a nickname, I don't think you will be able to play much at higher level of any international sport.

Pathan was a way better talent,he could have been a great all rounder for us if he was properly managed and not over exposed, sadly we are going the the same route with Pandya whose bowling is nowhere near as good as Pathan,

naah Pandya is a batting all rounder and therein lies a big difference between the two

Irfan was genuinely crap

anyone who followed old forum will know how I always called him crapthan

his batting was over hyped joke . No idea why hyped . Same quality as jadeja . Bowling ok with new ball but no pace and genuinely crap with older ball

in summary over hyped . Particularly his batting which was no better then bk

That is my feeling about this article. You just hear about one incident and relate it to some random present player and make a story about it. This may have been correct but article makes a really poor case of it. Also attributing this to Pathan's fall from grace is some ridiculous causation. Pathan was a good talent and everyone recognized it and he was given more than enough chances to prove it. He just could not sustain his promise simple as that.

Also ridiculous to state that in a team sport where players are likely to make fun of each other (juniors likely to face it more) this has now suddenly stopped. Who is to say that Kuldeep yadav does not get ribbed by Kohli or someone else now. I remember Dhawan getting super angry at Rahul who was an extra for not bringing a glove or something in time.

OVerall just a very average bit of reporting just randomly making up narrative around minor facts.

No his batting technique was not good at all . So over hyped

That is very harsh he was decent bat for no 8 , the problem is he was expected to deliver more. That was the problem with Fab four Era they rarely had guts to play with five batsmen and have a team that could win consistently. Both both Ganguly and Laxman had to play, if Pathan was made to play as third/fourth seamer and India had three other full time seamers it would have different result for Pathan.

Yes he was overhyped to some extent .Ishant Sharma who is still playing based on that Perth spell was hyped more.

Don't know who the bullies were but bhajji is a chiken hearted bully.

Rayadu almost made him cry and run back to the boundary when he tried his bullying with him.

Someone  should  slap him next time

Bhaji is atg . Craptahn was just that . Crap . Amazing people want to rubbish someone who delivered again and again for india . While want to praise someone who flopped for india and chickened it on pitch v oppo .

pathan had poor skill levels and bowled at 78 mph ffs

Poor skill levels? He was an extremely skilful swing bowler and batsman

Pathan didnt flop- he was a key part of the T20 world cup winning side, motm in one of Indias best ever away test wins...and for a while a world class ODI new ball bowler. Of course he didnt fulfill his potential but Unlike the contemporaries like Sree santh, RPS and Munaf who faded because they were nuts and lazy respectively Irfan never lacked heart or commitment
