List players who have done well in IPL, but failed in T20 intl games

Indians (players) who have done well in IPL, but failed in T20 international matches...

Any names that come to your mind? (but should have done well in IPL, not one match wonder like Valthaty - dont list him)

LOL they don't get chance to play T20 Internationals to begin with. So I am not sure of many examples.

Most others have already made mark in Internationals and then IPL.

We play very few T -20s.

I was going to say vijay, rahane, and dhawan but their ipl strike rates may not be good enough to say they have been good in ipl.  They average around 30 at strike rates at around 120 which is too low a strike rate for someone with an average that high.

He has a SR less than Dhoni's(SR 119 for an opener across 3 world cups ) in WT20s as opener .He literally wasted powerplays and screwed us in world T20s ever since he became an opener.

Yeah he has been pretty awful failure since he started opening in T20s

his record since Jan 2013. 30 matches, average 30 and an SR of 130, not bad at all. Also, do not think he has even opened across 3 T20 WCs.

And they are the only matches that even matter in T20s.

And Rohit has been a big failure for India in T20s.

This is frankly just your opinion. No amount of cherry picking or salad dressing can make Dhoni's mediocre T20I record look decent. The thread is about T20Is and not just T20 WCs.

The only saving grace to his T20I record is his avg., which is inflated by being not out in nearly 50% of his innings. A s/r of 122.62 for someone who bats at 6-7 is very poor.

Those stats are so misleading look at the amount of runs Dhoni has made there in comparison to Rohit.

 

It conveniently skips WT20 2007-2012 for some weird reason

 

Look at the amount of notouts there by Dhoni and compare that to his strike rate and the position he bats 

 

Sure within these “frame of” criteria it definetely shows Rohit having a poor strike rate but apparently Dhoni is a better T20 cricketer than Yuvraj Singh who is even below Ravindra Jadeja

Can you quote me were I said Dhoni had a great time ? The only post about me in this thread about Dhoni is that he has been a failure in T20Is .

There is nothing misleading in those stats.Rohit has suck in the last 2 T20 world cups with a joke of a SR of 118.That is often after batting through the powerplays.

Rohit has been horrible for India in T20s in last 2 two ones ,in particular, with his awful batting and SR.

Rohit averages 55 at a strike rate of 135 in the 4 world t20s previous to that though. plus he played a key role in winning 2007 world t20.

yes, only 11 T20s he played in T20WC as opener matters out of 65.

You have a point that RGS did not do that well in WT20 2016 (even his IPL that year was not good) because of lack of form and that affected his recent stats. On the other hand, MSD had a good tourney that year. But the sample size is too small for you to make the generalization that RGS is a bad T20I batsman. His WT20 performance has been very good for a long time. It definitely wasn't upto the mark in the last two but that does not automatically qualify him as a bad T20 batsman.
