Dhoni was terrible captain for his own team mates. VVS won many matches for India even under Dhoni. It's not like Dhoni is even better batsman than him. He could atleast had the courtesy of taking a call from his team mate or atleast returned his call back.

Yes he did fall back on Ashwin/Jadeja , that will happen with Virat too if his faast bowlers starting conceding runs at 6 rpo instead of taking wickets on helpful pitches . 

Zaheer was a senior player and dhoni could not order him around on line length. Dhoni was a new captain and just consolidated at that time. Once he was untouchable, he was actively directing his bowlers where to bowl, how to bowl, etc. His street smart way of doing things worked great in LOIs but in tests it ruined a lot of potential bowlers. Both Yadav and Bhuvi took time to emerge from Dhoni's shadows and be their own bowlers.

He started well in hos early career. Very good at man management. I think back to back defeats and overseas whitewashes, along with CSK investigation pressure may have forced him to take decisions which ATGs didnt like

Zaheer was a senior and other two where young and inexperienced . isnt that how it works with every player , they get better with age and experience ? Srinath bowled at his best in the last few years of his career very erratic early in his career, a senior when Ganguly was captaining but Zaheer was very inconsistent under Ganguly and his best was under Dhoni . Do you blame Ganguly for Zaheer being inconsistent in early stages of his career ? Nothing different with Bhuvi with experience hes got better . There is little Ganguly , Dhoni and Virat could/can do here . 

 

btw why has he only played 7 tests under Virat yet ? Hes not even Virats first choice for ODI's if Shami had not got injured . What kind of backing are talking off ?

Dhoni had a luxury no other captains had before, allrounders, world class pacers, good batting lineup, forget about away tours his captaincy in India n Asia on non rank turners was pathetic, he was close to a retarded test captain, never valued or loved test cricket, nor could he play it.

Give it a break sir .hes got ishant back in the team whos supposed to be proven failure and dhoni was rediculed for backing him . This is the same freaking faaast bowling lineup we had under Dhoni . Only difference is that shami has been available for selection relatively more recently .

There is a massive difference between  ishant under dhoni than ishant under  kohli, under dhoni he was just a mental midget who wants to jump it from 24th floor, never allowed to grow as bowler, got massacre by Faulkner for trundling where as under kohli he has improved a lot, pace is up there of what it used to be, learnt to bowl ball that goes away from the right hander, seam position also got rectified.

Not hard to understand this if you keep dhoni the failure away from it.

Its Kohli's way of giving confidence, dude. He does it to lot of people; Rahul being the worst example. I see someone coming up with some theory soon justifying that Yadav has lost pace and hence he is bad now.
