I am eager to see them perform on overseas pattas. The Aus challenge in December will be steep.

Yes, it's easy to get excited after these performances but we will have to keep in mind the extreme conditions. I would like them to show more patience and bowl less loose balls.

India needs a 150kph fast bowler now and a good swinging left arm pacer.

We will be beating top sides overseas and goras will be trembling to face our bowler now on a green mamba.

Khaleel, Nagarkoti, KM Asif are the three who i am pretty sure will be hitting 145-150kph if they stay fit.

Our best chance to win in Aus is by playing four fast bowlers than playing 3 and 1 spinner. Of course it depends on the pitch also anut usually solid four bowlers can get us the win.

One bowler is bound to go cold in the middle of the game like Shami, and then rise back and different times. Having four seamers wil increase our chances of winning.

Yes and if we play four genuine seamers, we don't need Pandya as alrounder. Pandya is only needed when we play three genuine seamers. Instead we can either ashwin as alrounder or an extra batsman, someone who can bowl some spin.

I want Pandya to have competition in the form of VijayShankar for the all rounder place when going to England. Shankar doesn’t have pace in his bowling but in a place like England he can be used as a batsman who can bowl few overs when we need to play an all rounder.

Shankar’s bowling might not be effective in Australia but we can use him in place like England as he can be perhaps be solid lower order batsman below Rahane.

Wonderful post.

Bhogle summed it up well, Dhoni was a spinners captain while Kohli is a fast bowlers captain, such a rare ocassion to see an Indian captain pick 5 fast bowlers in a test match irrespective of conditions. Now if only he can come out of his chuddy buddy bias, he'll lead India to great victories.

Dhoni isn't a spinners captain.its just that he didn't have the gameplan to fight overseas and chickened out immediately. Ofcourse you win with spinners at home. Kohli would rank this win on top of all his wins while Dhoni would give 620 4th innings targets and draw a match with 75 to get in 18 overs.

Sometimes a bit of talk works as someone said Shastri talking to him worked. These things do work. Either you drop or talk to him. You need to be at the top the if you want to win overseas and not just settle with mediocre stuff. I want him to be focussed every time he has ball in hand especially overseas where fast bowlers have to do all the talking.

You were the one who were talking about kicking out certain bowlers and bringing in Saini! One needs a bit of understanding to know that would have broken the morale of the bowling unit and they would have crumbled forever and never performed.

Its going to take some time for players to settle down on away tours and unless one persists, the performances will not come. Its elementary.

Like express bro said it's a dream victory. I was sceptical about Bumrah but he seems to have the knack of picking wickets. Would be interesting to see how he bowls in England where the bounce is not like in SA, AUS. Had high expectations from Ishant and he seems to have confined or the team management wants him only to be the third seamer who is economical. Would love to see Saini and couple of others in near future and perhaps can opt for horses for courses in eng and Australia.

Honestly i am not sure ...these pitches were sub par pitches where winning the toss made a big difference..

Batsmen had reasonable chance only in certain sessions ...mostly in the first innings of the first two tests...Not

one 350 in the series

The length and radar looked better than previous tours...But for confirmation on how effective they really are, one has to wait for truer wickets. My opinion was if the faster bowlers can bowl more consistently in the same channel as Bhuvi, there would be great rewards. In the third test, they did match up to expectations.

Pandya can be a good bowler if he gets yard or two of pace with more strategy and deception.

The fightback with bat and ball starting with Rahane's attack is certainly a huge positive and can be a huge inspiration for

youngsters.

There have been occasional heroics in the past like Gavaskar and Amarnath battles against fast bowlers, Sandeep's hundred in Adelaide, Vishwanath's 114 and Kapil's fifer  in Melbourne, Tendulkar playing a lone hand with others falling over..

But this kind of victory is hard to recall. Often we have seen Mccullum or Kallis single handedly saving matches. Even Jack russell made only his second hundred in his entire career to save a test for England in 1996. Thats how bad our bowlers have been in the past.

This is a certainly a more refreshing display which one hopes to see more often.

Hopefully England will be better this time with good wickets. The Australian series at home and this series are entertainig

to watch. But the careers and development of batsmen suffers.

Noway,English are going to prepare grazing fields to welcome us..but "Bring it on"

This. There is no such thing like spinners captain in Indian captain. Any Indian captain can be spinners captain.

Absolutely. It's like Clive lyoyd being a fast bowlers captain. Inept comparison by Bhogle.

Our bowling attack will do well in England too but our biggest test will be those flat pitches in Australia.

Exactly , in general the real test Wil be when they will be up against a good batting lineup on flat pitches , but thIs bowling does have potential to do well on most pitches

    Thnx a TON expressji ..

What you make of Khaleel  for T20.  Perosnally really  liked the big pluses he already has ..

Hope he can quickly add some of the stuff other very successful lefties  have done to become successful. There is lot of scope to add quite a few varieties and then he can be a great asset in one day & T20s .
