I think Trott was underrated as an ODI bat, but that doesn't make him a better player than KP (or even Nick Knight) in my book. Trott has a poor SR for his era. Also, averages list does not capture players who played crunch knocks but were not very consistent OR those who played in an era of lower averages.

I once did an one-one comparison of avg:s of Zim players with that of NZL players from around the same time period in a few matches. Zim players record in general was superior in all of these matches. its zim from 90s till 2003 and BD from 2016 onwards. both are top tier.
