Exception rather than rule. Rahane was amazing in 2011 odi series too in england.

Not an exception, guys like Rahane (Dravid as well) need pace on the ball. With good technique they're bound to survive & score quickly, if they last long enough.

People having a go at kartik and pandya ,but I dare say without their run a ball 20 odd knock  ,we'd have struggled to reach 235 ,had they tuk tuked their way out

well cant help the blind see,had dhoni instead scored a run a ball innings here we would have had close to 280

Rahane on his day will score great. On his bad day, he will lose you the match.

Same rahane was woeful in nz, aus odi games.

You can say the same about Sharmaji & his ability against the moving ball or genuine pace, ala Rabada.

Opening the innings in NZ or Aus?
