Rohit out of Tests is a tactical decision , they will not risk his reputation anymore in a overseas Test series . if he ever makes is way back , it will be for a home series .

This is a pretty straightforward selection. Nothing out of the ordinary. 

 

However, Pant is not going to play ahead of DK. Rahul won't play ahead of Shikhar or Vijay. Only out of the box thinking by this managemenrt at the max might be Kuldeep in place of Ashwin or Jadeja

I am afraid if India go with 5 specialist bowler our  tails will be way too big.kuldeep will be tricky business in place of jadeja in test matches.

 

I think K.Rahul I can trust him in test cricket, than Nair or even DK.my team of 11 in first test

Track on July 31st.i will go with 3 fast/medium, fast bowler and one spin bowler if Rahul makes it in xl.

3. Very happy to see Pant included. Deserved it thoroughly. 

 

4. Why Shardul Thakur  ?  Why is he this default backup option with so many better pacers around  ?  Rajpoot would have been the best option ... and if not then Siraj.    This one is a poor choice.

 

5. Very happy to see Bumrah in the squad.  This may mean that  " him missing 3 tests was a rumour ".  We need his extra pace, bounce and accuracy  used in an enforcer's role.

Thakur seems to be more of a Mumbai lobby Csk quota.

Hardik isn't getting dropped in any test. This going to be the likely XI for the first test. I expect Bhuvi to be fit by then but not Bumrah.

On the other hand we don't want to rush Bumrah in if he's still recovering from that injury.

That's a worry after seeing Bhuvi in the 3rd ODI ...  I am hoping they learn from it.

i dont like injured players being picked. Bumrah should not have been picked. Include him only once he gets fit to play instead of filling squad with someone injured better to pick someone who is fit to play.  I doubt he will recover from the surgery in 14 days.
