Poor squad and team selections have cost us the ODI series in England

Sundar is a proper batsman in the first place who has been treated as a bowler unfairly.

My 2 pence. These problems will keep happening. Not because we do not have talent in India. But because the power is concentrated too much with a few people. Sadly for Indian cricket, these people have always abused the power. Indian cricket team loses not lose because they are bad, but because of design.

 

Kohli and Dhoni will not let proper talent come in. Even after the U19 win, Kohli had specifically made a comment that its going to take 3-4 yrs for the young talents to be considered. In hindsight, Kohli wants to hang on to his supremacy and not let any champion player come in and question his dominance. He has always anyway been a selfish, rude person. Why do we think he has changed? He hasnt, its just a PR stunt. 

 

So what's going to happen is, by the time all these young batsmen and the genuine quicks are brought in, they would have lost their steam already. And if we think that the Indian team is going to regroup and try to make changes, we are fooling ourselves. I have seen enough of Indian cricket. About 30+ odd years to understand that no change is going to happen. They are going to bully a weaker team sometime in near future and all will be forgotten!

Pretty much. The Axis of Evil along along with their 2 stooges (Rohit and Dhawan) run Indian cricket as their fiefdom. No one else will be allowed to settle into the side. They will get away with pretty much everything as most other teams have major problems of their own and we'd manage to win at least 60% of our games in spite of all the glaring weaknesses in the side.

The phaaaaaassstttt bowlers are there in the large but first they have to grind themselves in the domestics like a majdoor for 4-5 years ,once they become malnourished then they qualify to represent the ...........A team...what did you think,senior team?nah ,thats just too far

Pandya's consistency with the bat needs to improve and I like the idea of trying him up the order at 5 or 6.

 

Trying Sundar or Krunal in the top 7 should have been done earlier.

 

I am not sure about Chahar or Thakur's batting abilities at No.7.  But, if they have the ability, it would definitely strengthen our bowling.

I dont like Pandya as our 3rd seamer. Stokes isnt England's third seamer. He should be batting at 6 and playing as 6th bowler or fourth seamer.

or may even 5 in terms of batting, he showed against aus last year he can play as a proper bat, these were the kinds of things kohli should have experimented in this tour instead he played raina for his bowling

will u throw Mavi at this stage - When rules have become so harsh for bowlers n Wc is an year away..........

Prasisdh went for runs on A-tour- again will u throw in someone so early at such critical stage

 

This makes Bumrah the senior most bowler n he still is in his 2nd -3rd yr , wudnt that be to much pressure on him. Without an experienced bowling coach he almost becomes a mentor which right now is still shared among him n bhuvi

Mavi n Nagarkotti shld be given chances.They are great fielders and can contibute with the bat.Plunket may not be eng best no 3 bowler but is selected bcos of his all round skills.Nagarkotti or Mavi shld be groomed.Yuvraj too was picked just after the u19 wc without any major domestic experience and he served us for long.Same too for Nagarkotti n Mavi.

Anyways, I am not saying we permanently drop him but we should look at various options. There is no hard and fast rule that we need an AR. 

 

Pandya needs to be more consistent. Thats for sure.

There are no other bowlers so you will have take punt on youngsters. BK is serving no purposes at the moment.  Bumrah, Rajpoot, Khaleel can be two front line bowlers and rotated with Mavi and Prasidh.  Mavi has shown good temperament. I dont t think he will get a more difficult test than IPL anywhere.  Even international cricket is less testing than IPL for young fast bowlers on dead pitches and small grounds.

Anyone can be dropped. None of the two is indispensable.
