TNAmarkFromIndia
They should try Prithvi Shaw in No. 4 or No. 5 in ODIs. GautiMaan, UrmiSinhaRay, express bowling and 1 other 2 2 Link to comment
tweaker
Prithvi Shaw marked his Test debut with a rambunctious 56-ball half-century. In the process, he became the youngest Indian to a fifty on debut express bowling and UrmiSinhaRay 1 1 Link to comment

Popular Post express bowling
1) What I really like about Shaw is that he has a good back foot game and is a natural cutter of the ball. Can pull the ball too. Hopefully, he will be good against quick short balls. We will find out in Australia. 2) He has worked on his trigger movement ... now his back foot is moving back towards the leg-middle stump and not away from the leg stump on most occasions. ( although it is still hapenning on occasions ) 3) His footwork is decisive ... either clearly back or decisively forward ... and he is playing the ball under his eyes and playing it late. This is a very good. 4) Very good timer of the ball. 5) Although he plays at a very high SR ... he has not slogged the ball. Just played normal cricketing shots. But some lofted shots and slashes were there. 6) Not sufficient good length channel balls were bowled to test his off-stump game. This is one area I would like to see how he fares especially if the ball is moving. Yes ... the pitch seems to be flat and only 2 good bowlers in Gabriel and Bishoo ... but he looks so natural. All the best kid ! Edited October 4, 2018 by express bowling Mosher, Jimmy Cliff, UrmiSinhaRay and 7 others 1 7 2 Link to comment

Maybe his performance in Tests will convince the selectors to try him in ODIs. Has the ODI squad been selected for the series against West Indies? UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

Even Rishabh Pant has struggled in the middle order in list A cricket because he opened the batting most of his junior cricket. T2o batting in MO is different as you just have to bash the bowlers irrespective of which number you come in bat unless You are a Dhoni who just consolidates whether he bats at 4 or 6 does not matter. Pant is not exactly a middle order bat he is more of a hitter who could be tried at number 6, though he too is good at rotating strike, odi cricket is all about rotating strike, singles doubles and shaw looks pretty decent in it although I still think its too early to say that but can still try him at num.4. I think ideally when Rohit,Dhawan decline these two can be tried as our openers in onedayers Yes Pant and Shaw can be tried as openers for meaningless series like the current one where either Rohit or Dhawan is rested Edited October 4, 2018 by Suhaan UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

Shaw plays at a very high SR, looks comfortable against both pacers and spinners, seems to be good at rotating the strike and is a natural stroke player. Has all the traits needed to be a good middle order ODI batter. Rohit and Dhawan are expected to open in ODIs for the next 4 years atleast. We should not waste such a talent just because he is an opener. WeStMiDz
There is a major dilemma for India in the near future. Dhawan & Rohit are outstanding ODI openers in any conditions. But in Rahul and Shaw you have two outstanding talents that should not be kept out the side. Somebody is going to have to take the plunge and move to the middle order. express bowling, UrmiSinhaRay and speedheat 1 2 Link to comment
