Should start batting at #6 :dontknow:

I keep on saying this.  Pant is a specialist batsman with a good off-stump game,  good short ball game, decent game against spin and a FC average of 50+ before debut.

He is better than many other so called specialist batters provided he can cut out the ugly hoicks ( and he has done just that in the last 2 tests ).

yes, he is a much better batsman without them. in fact, even with relatively risk-free shots, he could score at a SR of 70+. he needs to stop thinking of scoring at a SR of 90.

Exactly.  Pant has a wide array of strokes all around the park.  Cuts, pulls  off drives  on drives, flicks, sweeps.  Has a lot of time on his hands to play the quicks   Does not need to play the risky shots to score reasonably qùickly.

yeah, that reverse sweep he played a few overs ago was positive flower-esque. don't know why he hoicks so much at times. his batting reminds me of sehwag in some ways.
