We almost lost to Bangladesh playing without Shakib and Tamim.  Barely scraped through at the last ball.

 

If this does not send a message acrooss to the Team management and selectors regarding faulty selection policy of picking too many mediocre players  ....  nothing will.

Gopal and Gowtham are better bowling allrounders than Axar. 

 

Sundar is a good batting allrounder.

What's there to think. - that's what the selectors said.

We already know what the likes of Yadav, Shami and Ishant brings to the table. They are not meant to lead the bowling attack and are limited with their abilities to perform that role. We needed one more bowler to complement Bumrah. It was a good opportunity to test Siraj against low ranked WI and the team management has wasted it again.

Complete lack of vision.

 

Our bowling looked without a spearhead in the first 2 tests in England when Bumrah was injured.

 

But our TM won't learn.

 

Their USP is coming up with bombastic and over the top statements after losses.

So why are we not adversed to making changes in Tests when our team looks more settled but we cant make changes to our LOIs and our middle order that constantly rewinds back clock to 1970s?

Picking non mediocre players like Shaw and Pant in tests ...  and getting results atleast for the time being.

 

More importantly ...  we can expect to see this duo playing after 5 years.   Don't expect the same regarding the group mentioned in OP.
