Because Pakistan has not been able to introduce a single genuine fast bowler in their international team who started playing cricket in this decade, the 2010s. Wahab Riaz and Amir both started in the 2000s decade and Amir has lost pace in test matches and lost form in ODIs. While Wahab is wayward. They have introduced some fast medium bowlers in LOIs like Usman Khan, Shaheen Afridi and Hasan Ali ... but none of them are consistent 140+ genuinely quick guys. And in test matches, most of their pacers, like Abbas and Hamza, are 126 k to 136 k seamers. No fast bowlers ... so support the good medium pacers. express bowling Posted October 18, 2018 Posted October 18, 2018 Md. Abbas is a seamer on the taller side and bowls with metronomical accuracy. He hits the seam from a high release point and gets movement with consistency. Such pacers, who combine decent height with great accuracy and hit the seam, have always done well. He is not a run of the mill short trundler ... and seamers with such accuracy are not easy to find. Suhaan, Lannister, putrevus and 2 others 2 3

However these (kind of) threads have always been a regular feature at ICF: Speed watch thread for WI tour Watching speed of our (non) speedy bowlers in XYZ Cup Speed and (may be) Performance watch Thread Speed (and who cares for) accuracy checking thread Will speed of our Spinners increase? thread

Frustrated Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 Abbas is indeed a very promising bowler. Good consistent line and length , always probing the batsman. Why doesn't he play in the LOI ? Any Pakistani poster, can you throw some light ?
Chaos Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 dont hype please. this is one piss poor batting order for aussies in asian conditions. even afghans would beat them in asia. Iconoclast and speedheat 1 1

Pak was preferring couple of all-rounders along Amir and Hassan in LOIs which was working great overall but since recently Hasan performance slightly decreased and Pak just dropped Amir from upcoming T20s as well, so... may be he get some chance soon... rtmohanlal Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 Abbas main strength is his relent less 'wicket to wicket' accuracy and skiddy action. But his strength can also become his weakness if batsmen adopts unorthodox approach in unfavorable conditions and also in future too. There in lies his main challenge, i suppose. If batsmen alter their stance at the last moment, he would find extremely difficult to adjust his line and length accordingly much harder than other normal bowlers because of his skiddy action.
Franco Vazquez Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 If teams try to counter attack him then he will be useless. He’s one injury away from becoming useless GoldenSun 1

Vk1 Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 He bowled decently but this Aussie batting made it look like playing Anderson in headingley. SK_IH 1

Lannister Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 The way he is bowling on dead UAE tracks, he will find it more easy in SA, and he has already performed in England. He could become no. #1 if keeps this up for one more year. Vilander and Asim 2
