What are you on about? Rahul still has far better T20I numbers despite not being a certainty in the side and not getting to bat in his preferred role.

Rahul has good chance to make an impact in test series. If he fails there then it will be very hard to make mark in international cricket. If he does well in test then that's what would matter over t20 failures but if he fails even in test series then we need to move on and look for alternatives.

Dhawan too was poor till last year before he started playing attacking role. If you give time to rahul as opener then he has chance to score big unlike dhawan who gets out but dhawan gives you consistent starts too (atleast he has been giving this year in t20s).

Just this year. His T20I record used to be appalling but is now mediocre. Whereas Rahul's numbers have gone from being extraordinary to merely very good. The trend will pretty much continue until Rahul gets to open.

Rahul has to mentally strengthen...also look to improve all the time...He has this attitude like Gayle..like he's the best..Needs to buckle down and concentrate on the game..he has everything going on him..such a shame.

Dhawan is the second best bat for India.

That is the hard truth. Look at his hands, feet movement. He is an absolute nervous wreck. He has to improve his percentage game in a big way. You can't hoick everything over infield to pile up runs. In between you have to play ground strokes to pierce the field.  Also he has issues with incoming deliveries.
