How can we look at this negatively. We got to be the most pessimistic  fans in the world if we have this attitude. Unless this is trolling, this shows a very poor state of mind on the fans end. We got one opener debuting and one makeshift opener forced to play out of comfort zone, we should be elated not trying to pin pricks on a solid rock foundation...

I am elated as a indian cricket fan...hope u too are.

Negative commentators are discussing same right now.

Jeez, wait till both teams have batted before harping like impatient kid over the run rate. Its a five sayer not T20. Let the match finish and we can see how both teams batted on this wicket. Same innings on day 1 and day 2 will be pillars of this win.

Tricho is impatient.

What the team is trying to do is score majority of runs in one innings so that not many runs need to be scored in second and even if there is collapse the lead in first innings covers that. The run rate is 2.38

That approach is safety first, like what Pak does/did in UAE & it won't win you too many games!

Pak does it at home.  We are playing overseas.  for us this is the best approach.  Scoring 440 in 170 overs is better than getting all out at 400 in 150 overs.

Right, so we're looking to draw this game & then win the next one? If Aus don't implode, which they certainly can, then this opportunity will cost us the series!

no, 3 days are enough to get any team out twice on pitch which is deteriorating with variable bounce.

It is but we'll see whether the bowlers do as well on this pitch as opposed to some of the more helpful ones, also fielding - if we take very catch or half chance then ideally we should win.

Looked flat but with its sluggishness and variable bounce, not that easy to bat on. Add the absolutely dead outfield. Don't know how many genuine boundary shots did not reach the fence. Must have cost us 25-30 runs if not more.

But if someone wants to play defensively, with some luck, will be relatively easier as there are not too many nasty surprises. Will have to wait till tomorrow to see if it breaks up.

We should have batted till end of day.  Those overs we gave aus to bat, woulod have given players T20 licence to inflict carnage

Then bowl start of day 3

But Kohli wanted to have some overs today, fair enough, positive move.  But I would have done it slightly different
