Pujara for ODIs??

Middle order needs aggressive batsmen like Buttler who can play long innings.Too many slow accumulators is a recipe for disaster.Shaw/Rahul/Pandya/Pant fit that category well. Pandya did really well in ODI series vs Aus scoring fast vs the spinners.Team prefers the likes of Rayudu,Dhoni,Manish & Kedar all of whom are accumulators.Adding Pujara to that mess is bad idea.In worst case, his defense will become loose and his test form could be at risk that way.

Test cricket is the one format he knows how to play and even there he has been shaky.
So the answer is no. Best to keep him where he is most needed.
Shaky??
Dude..your standards are really high...
Did you realise that he is the best batsmen from both the teams in the current tour

He is, and he went through a patch where he was playing in too many formats and his test form suffered. He is in the right place now and we shouldn't mess around by trying to make him fit elsewhere.

Forget s/r and all

If u run like this ...i wnt work in Odi plus his fielding isnt gr8 either

For all the slow s/r of dhoni n all......atleast that guy still can run damn fast if needed for partner

Its hilarious watching this dude trying to run between the wickets. I almost expect to see a gujju woman run onto the pitch with a box of dhokla to give him some energy.

aur ye solidity konsa naya natak hia that i keep hearing

We need solidity , we need anchors in LOI

In LOI to be a champion side u either need match winners or utility players  and pujara is neither . Kohli, dhawa, rohit all are solid players and once set they make it big

Many of the posts on this thread appear to be from those who were waiting for Pujara to fail in Aus (and likes of Rahul, Rahane and a struggling Vijay to set things on fire based on 4-5 yrs old stats)

The thread gave some of these folks an avenue to vent their frustrations :dontknow:

No need of Pujara in ODI setup, he is extremely valuable for us in tests. Everybody knows about the struggles of his knee. He is neither super quick/agile on the field nor he could play an innings of 70 off 60 balls at the crease which is quite normal stuff if you are chasing 310+ totals nowadays. Also we have the likes of Dhoni, Rayudu in our batting order so be careful what you wish for. The last thing you might want is screwing up of his test form while trying to earn a position in the ODI team.

Now thinking hard about it ,this corrupt TM might add pujara in the odi team just make dhoni look good (even then dhoni might come out to be slower :cantstop:)

You mean how DK was included to make Dhoni look good but then Dhoni started making DK look good instead? :phehe:

If you want to bring guys with a solid technique,Why not Vihari and Mayank

Vihari-Has good List A stats,handy bowler

Mayank again excellent domestic season in limited overs too,can hit big.

IPL should not be the only yardstick for ODI's
