Any Karnataka player who nicks it and waits for umpires decision is a " cheat" too .why wait for the umpire to put his finger up ? Why don't they just walk off before given out !

Answer is they hope they won't be given out .

This is big boys cricket not gulley cricket go cry to someone who cares .

When Karnataka players nicks it, they just want to be sure that keeper caught it cleanly at chest height.

How hard it is to understand that Pujara did what most players do all around the world. Karnataka fans anger is justified too. Not like they are killing Pujara. Spectators calling out on players happen all around the world. And yes if you Nick and don't walk it's cheating. Doesn't matter if you are breaking any law or not.You guys call ajmal cheater when he chucked through his significant career without getting caught by law. Batsman all around the world cheat when they don't walk if they know they have nicked. No big deal. But doesn't actually mean it isn't cheating.

Dont try to justify this. Its not cheating if no rule is broken. He simply stood his ground its umpires decision. Karnataka fans were pathetic to boo and shout insults at Pujara who just won the country their greatest test series victory.

Your hate for Karnataka and Mumbai is well known here. So wouldn't argue with you. It's waste of time. Most reginolistic hate spewer here.

So WC match, and Kohli nicks one and isn't given.  Fielding team out of reviews.  Do you want Virat to walk?

If you don't, then you have no right to criticize Pujara here.

1) I, personally wouldn't want him to walk. Since these things usually even out since you also get wrong decisions against. But I wouldn't be pissed off if he walks. I am not unhappy either ways.

2) I am not criticizing Pujara. Both Pujara and Karnataka fans aren't wrong here.

3) My only disagreement is with those who say batsman not walking while nicking aren't cheating. They are. Doesn't matter if everyone does so.

Sadly, now he has turned into a cheat. Lost complete respect for him.

I think his honeymoon period is over. He will not be playing against the same Aussie side in the future.

Pujara just tweeted that he wants to personally apologise to you. He cant even taste his "dal" properly, It feels its has too much salt in it. Please forgive

Did I say they are an exception to this.. Of course any one who does that will be called cheat.

These things rarely happen. Example being Stuard Broad when he refused to walk in the last Ashes series. He was called much worse than this.

Kudos to Karnataka fans for calling this cheat out:hatsoff:

There people saw replay.

Have you seen replay?

How do you know he was out?

How do people stadium know he nicked it?  Please don't tell me that the could spot it from 70 m?

Broad did not refuse to walk . You can only refuse to walk if given out !!

An appeal was made, given not out by umpire , game continues .

In about 99% of the time the umpire gives the correct decision, but in 1% they don't , time for people like you to start saying player A is a cheat But the other 99 % would in your eyes be  cheats too only you don't or can't because in those cases the players that waited for decision the umpires got it right !!.

Coach defends Cheteshwar Pujara, slams Karnataka team for 'false appeals'

Quote

Kotak accused Karnataka of false appeals during the semi-final clash. "Karnataka can cry, but when they got Prerak Mankad out [on 0 in the first innings], caught behind by appealing wrongly even as the ball was relatively far away from the bat, why didn't they recall Prerak? They got Prerak wrongly out and were happy with it.

The wicketkeeper knew, the bowler knew... so why didn't they call him back? You want Pujara to be honest, but you don't want to be honest. You cannot have it both ways.

"If they had sporting spirit, why would they falsely appeal? At least we didn't make any false appeal. Karnataka were showing desperation because they may have felt hard done by [with Pujara's decision]," said Kotak.

'Crowd wrong to boo Pujara'
Pujara was reportedly booed by the Chinnaswamy crowd with chants of 'cheater cheater'. "It is wrong on the crowd's part. Has Vinay Kumar ever called a batsman back in his career for being given out wrongly? If he has not done so then he has no right to complain," said Kotak.

"As long as the umpire is not doing it purposely. He's human, he can make mistakes. You have to go with the decision and accept it. There were so many decisions which went against us as well... at least five to six. But we haven't complained. Vinay was out leg before, but the umpire said it was bat and pad. [Abhimanyu] Mithun and Mayank [Agarwal] were also clearly out leg before but were given not out. The decisions were even for both teams," he added.

Kotak also highlighted Sauashtra's better record against Karnataka. In the last three clashes before the semi-final, Saurashtra had two outright wins [in 2018-19 and 2016-17] and a first innings lead in the 2012-13 quarter-final. "So, no point finding excuses about losing due to bad decisions," concluded Kotak.

Seems like Karnataka fans could see only one batsman.

WHat's this got to do fans' behaviour? In a crowd, if one boos, they will all kjoin in the heat of the moment. Even objective ones on Internet will feel cheated. This is like giving Sachin/Kohli/Pujara out on a no-ball. We feel cheated. As if fans in other states (if they even go to the stadium to watch or even follow the games of their state) will be objective when it comes to passionate following of the game.

The need of the hour is better umpiring. BCCI has so much money, they can get better qualityinternational umpires. Get in DRS for KO games. But don't abuse fans who are following and promoting the domestic cricket. With the following and the rigour of domestic cricket we have got greats like Dravid, Laxman, Pujara and many more.
