zen Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 (edited) Pandya = worth his weight in gold just for his batting and fielding .... eventually expect him to become the #2 most imp wkt for Ind after Kohli Edited February 24, 2019 by zen
flamy Posted March 6, 2019 Author Posted March 6, 2019 (edited) Pandya bowled 40 overs after his layoff and broke down. I hope the Bambis don't overwork him. It could end his career. Stress fractures are not small injuries, and take time to heal. Edited March 6, 2019 by flamy
Ankit_sharma03 Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 Its very clear that pandya has no ideal replacement Anyone who think jadeja can bat in LOI- Shankar is a batsman who can bowl Even as a power hitter their isnt much of an option at 7 - karthik can be one but he cant bowl or field AuxiliA and Gollum 2

vvvslaxman Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 Everybody we have in the line up is "consolidators" "innings builders". No flair, No flamboyance.
flamy Posted March 6, 2019 Author Posted March 6, 2019 https://www.hindustantimes.com/cricket/hardik-pandya-injury-puts-serious-question-mark-on-indian-support-staff-bcci-official/story-lY7cE3GR2cmLdkM6d87jcO.html Quote “This is the year of the World Cup and the issue with Hardik’s back once again raises serious questions about the strength and conditioning department of the Indian team and the NCA. A player is declared fit after heavy testing under the BCCI protocols, thereafter he is with the Indian team and after sometime with the team, his back stiffness recurs. “Does that not indicate that his management by the Indian strength and conditioning and physiotherapy staff leaves a lot to be desired? It seems that he gets fitter and stronger when he is handled elsewhere and his condition deteriorates when he is under the care of the team’s support staff,” he said. Echoing the sentiments, another board functionary said: “An office bearer has asked pertinent questions in this regard earlier as well but no answers are forthcoming. It is a case of total opaqueness. Gradual recurrence of back stiffness puts doubts about his injury management by the BCCI team.” Timeline: Sep 18: Stretchered off the field "Hardik Pandya has an acute lower back injury. He is able to stand at the moment and the medical team is assessing him now. Manish Pandey is on the field as his substitute," BCCI's media team updated. Dec 15: Returns from injury and claims 5-for in domestics (That is three-months down time) Jan/Feb: Plays six matches, bowls around 40 overs and looks generally fit. Feb 21: Ruled out of Aus series Quote "Pandya had only recently recovered from a stress fracture of the back. In September 2018, he had to be stretchered off the field while playing an Asia Cup match against Pakistan with the BCCI saying he was suffering from "acute back spasms". The problem was serious enough that he missed the entire home series against West Indies in October-November and then the first two Tests of the Australia tour as well." From <http://www.espn.com/cricket/story/_/id/26043817/hardik-pandya-ruled-australia-t20s-odis> Stress fractures take long time to heal, and are hard to diagnose. If he was fully recovered, how come he is down again? Which suggests there was some incompetency in declaring him fit. And, they are now taking precautionary measures. It is not very clear on how serious this is, but the recurrence is worrying.
velu Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 his injury actually gave a solution in the form of shankar .. if cummins & co put raydudu in his place , shankar will be the biggets beneficiary

cowboysfan Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 he probably came back too soon,if he has stress fracture again then he wont make the wc squad.
Vilander Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 it should be a Rayudu vs Shankar discussion. Pandya has to be wrapped in cotton wool. If he goes, Balance goes.
