What are our options without Pandya?

Pandya = worth his weight in gold just for his batting and fielding .... eventually expect him to become the #2 most imp wkt for Ind after Kohli

Pandya bowled 40 overs after his layoff and broke down. I hope the Bambis don't overwork him. It could end his career. Stress fractures are not small injuries, and take time to heal.

Anyone who think jadeja can bat in LOI- 

Shankar is a batsman who can bowl 

Even as a power hitter their isnt much of an option at 7 - karthik can be one but he cant bowl or field

Play both Pandya and Shankar in the XI, both have different roles and both add great value.

Jan/Feb: Plays six matches, bowls around 40 overs and looks generally fit.

 

Feb 21: Ruled out of Aus series

Stress fractures take long time to heal, and are hard to diagnose. If he was fully recovered, how come he is down again? Which suggests there was some incompetency in declaring him fit. And, they are now taking precautionary measures. It is not very clear on how serious this is, but the recurrence is worrying.
