Hate this age discrimination mindset. If someone is good he should be in the team irrespective of age.

Yes. 28 is nothing. IIRC, Adam Gilchrist became a regular at 27-28, waiting on the sidelines for Healy to retire.

To be honest, I was really sceptical about Shankar's batting potential as a Ltd overs player, but boy Iam so glad to be proven wrong.

Wish he was around 22-23... anyway, better late than never

He is not a hard hitting clean striker of the ball. But he is a solid batsman suitable for no 4.

Thats nt discrimination that's a fact.. A 22 year old can play much longer than a 28 year old.. Common sense... Where did i say shankar shouldn't be playing? It was just an observation . I'm a fan of his batting now..

Not a fact at all, it's being ageist and it's prevalent in all walks of life not only in sports. What gives a 22 years old will remain good enough till 28. We have so many instances of youngsta beauties not living up to initiate promise.

Doubt that.. If Rahul flunks another match, Rayudu might come back to the squad and Rahul will be left out for WC

not really , even if rahul fails he wud be considered as backup opener

Rayudu chances are killed by emergance of shankar who is showing he can bat anywere
