Now with only a weird theoretical chance of making it, SA can finally play well :p:

its as good as impossible by Saturday we will  have same 4 teams going thru unless there is a  upset .WC has become farce .

Australia and NZ can do Trans Tasmanian battle

England And India can play within themselves after Saturday till semis..

ABD offered to play but arrogant SA board refused. Now face the consequence

They did the exact right thing.

What does AB think of himself?  Some superman,  who'd fly in the time of crisis  and save his people ? This is real life and things won't work like that here. Imagine a Van der dussen who's done all the hard work for years in the domestics and finally gets a chance to play for his country at the world cup and now he can't because some golden boy want to come back flying into the team freshly back from retirement. Just seems ridiculous to even consider that happening and south African board earned my respect the day this news came out.

Hope you got my point. :nice:

Sometimes logic don't work for players like ABD. Your batting is in deep crisis and you completely out of form players like Amla playing then keep logic aside and grab the opportunity.

Great game for me despite all the luck/choking by SA.  In the end, it was a close contest and the 5th bowler proved to be the downfall of SA.  Faf could've have used a couple of overs from someone else in the middle.

Williamson's nick which went undetected..when in doubt at a crucial point against the one player who's keeping the game in balance, why not take it??

CDG played a handy knock there as SA was choking Williamson on the offside and plugging the 3rd man region.

If BD somehow defeats AUS tomorrow, does that keep SA in the game?

Max SA can get is 9 points. NZ is on 9, Eng and Aus on 8, and Ind on 7. So SA has to win its games and hope that teams like Eng, Aus, Ind, etc., get less than 9 (or on 9 with SA having the better NRR)

For that to happen, can't afford another washout. Those big teams need to loose against lesser ranked teams (highly unlikely that ENG/IND/AUS will start loosing when high on confidence)

There are 2 ways to look at it.

1. He is your best player put your ego aside and bring him in for wc!

2. Setting an example for next gen cricketers by RSA board saying there is no one bigger than the game. I don't care who you are and what you did... You choose Other leagues over country.

No.2 is good for them in long run. He is prob the best batsmen they ever produced. :orderorder:

When you  are constantly loosing players because of racial policies then its best to put ego aside and let him play. Don't lookt at it from indian point of view but from SA point of view.

Miller has been pathetic in all aspect of the game. Hope the IPL franchisees kick him out and never waste money on him...

De Kock is a zombie... He needs to get his ears check ASAP...

Faf has regressed after his stint at CSK...

Pint sized Williamson {106*) M.o.M > 4 win out of 5 matches in wc

NZ vs RSA, Birmingham

37.1 - Miller drops a toughie at short mid-wicket. Desperate shouts of 'catch it' from the bowler (Tahir). It just doesn't stick these low catches

37.4 - Miller again! This time relatively easy by his standards. Goes one-handed after de Grandhomme chipped it to his left, only if it had stuck...

37.6 - Tahir won't give up. Never does. Sees some sort of contact as the ball passed the bat. Appeal. A huge one from him. He strolls, he stares but gets nothing (absolutely nothing) from the keeper. None of the ring fielders spotted it either. Guess what, there was a nick and of course, a clear spike on the UltraEdge. Amidst this chaos, Faf was at long-on and he got no signs of 'let's go upstairs' kinda look from anyone. Oops!

40.1 - Williamson miscues a pull onto his body. He loses sight of the ball, but trusts his partner (de Grandhomme) and rushes to the other end in hope of completing a single. Ngidi was quick to gather the ball, but he misses the target. Miller breaks the stumps without the ball in his hand.

Last five SA-NZ WC encounters:
Joburg, 2003: NZ won by nine wickets
Grenada, 2007: NZ won by five wickets
Mirpur, 2011: NZ won by 49 runs
Auckland, 2015: NZ won by four wickets
Edgbaston, 2019: NZ won by four wickets

NZ captains scoring 100s in WCs:
Glenn Turner (Two in 1975)
Martin Crowe (1992)
Stephen Fleming (2003, 2007)
Kane Williamson (2019) *
