India even in the worst case scenario reaches 262 . INdia needs to see of first 10 then go after bowling in the next 40. Worked so far. Wll work mishra 1
WorldCup 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 well who can tell Virat or ravi S.? because they Figures out >>> more allrounder = more Success
WorldCup 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 indias bad luck >> Dhawan injured otherwise Rahul not open but stays at 4. Anyway Rahul doing good job pant at high risk at 4 but i think MSD should go at 4 ( he not liked which is shame>> he should willing to play at any batting position ) mishra 1
Khota Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 Pant for Shankar is fair especially if Shankar is not bowling worth a crap.

Bhai, Shanka is supposed to bowl 24-36 deliveries at economy of 6rpo. Any wicket or better economy is a plus. He brings this bowling card to Kohli. Also he is decent fielder on boundry rope. Pant may average 20 more runs but oppositin, if while batting gains momentum, Kohli cant give the ball to Pant, Can he? Thats what is bringing balance to the team.

Why do we need three bowling options for 5th bowler? We have Pandya and Jadhav already.

It’s a crime to call Jadhav a bowler. It was a novelty factor that has worn off. Pandya has bowled well so far but knowing him he might be due a dud game soon

Dk or Pant have to play over Shankar or Jadhav. Apples to apples Jadhav is the better bat and Shankar the better fielder/ bowler. Since both DK and Pant are not going to bowl and are upgrades in the batting department, DK or Pant over Jadhav. I prefer Pant who has no fear than DK who can be fidgety. Even though at this point I think DK is the better player against quality fast bowling compared to Pant

The line of thinking of TM is that as pitches get worn out , there will be more spin and in such scenario Kedar may become a better bowling option that Shankar . As days go by there is less chance of Kedar getting dropped than Shankat unless KJ is not fit. If fit he will paly most of the matches from now on.
veer Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 DK is the best bet for no. 4 IMO.. But I can't believe we dont have a stable no. 4 batsman.. we used to be good at finding batters at this position... Dravid/Yuvi/Raina so good at that.. Investing time on Rayudu was a big mistake.. Shubhman Gill should be our next WC no. 4.. he is good at rotating strikes with good temperament.. he needs to get better for slog overs though

vvvslaxman Posted June 29, 2019 Posted June 29, 2019 Shankar's position should be assessed based on the opposition and ground. Edgbaston a ground where the turn is the highest you would back Jadhav not Shankar. So drop Shankar. DK or Pant should walk in.

If they drop Shankar, then questions will be asked on why did they select him over the hack Rayudud. On top of that regional bias also seems to be involved in team selection. Bharat Arun is probably at the back of Shankar's selection. IIRC he was Shastri's drinking buddy during his junior cricket days. So it is possible he has some influence. That being said, Kohli will most likely back Shankar because he got a start in both the Afg and WI matches and it is a matter of playing a while longer and adding more runs. And, there's his ability to bowl a few overs if needed.
