I dont think he insinuated that India lost on purpose, he is saying if you don't try to win it's not sportsmanship. and he is 100% right, what India did was not sportsmanship and against the spirit of cricket. Blame the cowardly batsmen who gave up and didn't try to win

He was playing to the gallery and said it in round about way that India did it on purpose. I am with you that India play was horrible and shameful but it sure was not on purpose.

Khota , YOU have no shame, all cricketing world is criticizing the way Indians played against England, including some of your own legend , except some IPL contracted experts and you decided to use these harsh words for a legend just because he happened to be a Pakistani. Learn to take some criticism also when you trying to be smart, whole world is watching you, they are not stupid.

You are shameless. We all are critisizing how India played. He claimed that India did it on purpose. Big difference. That is why he should be ashamed. And you should be ashamed of your legends because they made money by losing to BD on purpose in WC when BD was ranked so low. Do not defend bad behavior.

Someone should ask Waqar what about the Afghanistan Pakistan fix? Gulbadin was not performing at all and ISI pressure suspected according to Afghans.

Now you're getting ridiculous, stay in the spirit of having some intelligent and expert discussion on cricket.

Sirjee did you see the captaincy of Gulbadin and his last over as well as the defining one? He was deliberately misfielding. Is he that stupid, of course not. I have met many good Afghans at the India Afghanistan game. It's clear these people play for josh like Indians and are not fixers like Pakistanis who sell their soul and nation for bucks. So Gulbadin kisi chakar mai phas gaya tha. Afghans suggested some agents involved which are linked back to Pakistan. If you can hide Osama you can do this, this is easy.

I never use the "fixed" lightly but I even watched parts of that game again and it was obvious what Gulbadin was up to. I think maybe 2 other players were also involved. It just shows bad Pakistan are, Afghanistan were helping them so much and they still struggled to get over the line.

Match Fixing confirmed by random Afghan in Delhi :two_thumbs_up:

He is just trying to state how stupid it was to think Afgan match was fixed like it was england .

Even today ,Dhoni is finding hard to score .

Dhoni’s innings today proved that India didn’t lose deliberately. Dhoni is simply not capable of accelerating in the death overs anymore.

He still has the ability to put away the bad balls. He is no longer able to manufacture runs when the bowling is good. And that’s where he has been hurting the team, by putting pressure on the young (Pandya, Pant) or just in (DK) players on the other side to manufacture runs.

Agree that waqar shouldn’t have said that. I think India got beat fair and square as well. It’s one thing to disagree with the approach after pandya got out (and I disagree with Dhoni’s and Jadhav’s approach), but another to accuse players of not having sportmanship

your hate for Dhoni is making you agree with an India hater, nothing else. Eng won the game its insulting to them and their skill to say anything else. We are complaining that India did not pull off the greatest chase in WC history against a home side that had 2 150k and 2 140k pacers in English conditions ??

And if I could add, they also had a must win game and they came out with real fighting spirit. Kudos to this great English side for attacking our spinners, taking on our bowlers, rotating strike very well, not getting intimidated by the occasion, making the correct call to bat first, correct call to play Roy and archer, to drop a spinner for plunkett, excellent fielding effort with the catch of pant the highlight, and very clever bowling where they reduced the speed on the ball. Credit where credits due. On the other hand, we were slightly underpar on the field, played 2 spinners (but that’s hindsight), and kls wicket and the untimely dismissals of Rohit, kohli, pant and pandya eventually killing us off

Never under estimate your talent, you can make a good drama writer, thrillers :hysterical:

Blaming for throwing a match purposefully is big blame and India should not be blamed for that , hence I condemned ridiculous statements by jokers like Basit who was saying that . But suggesting India did not look interested and motivated in winning against England and did not put the extra effort ( which is against the sportsman spirit )  which they were capable of as they already were in SF and they did not feel like making an extra effort to help Pakistan , is a genuine observation and nothing wrong with saying  that. Waqar just said that.
