Rahul form - can improve further

pant at 4 - beginning to click 

sharma intent - good to see scoring in first 10 overs 

Karthick in place of Jadhav - something better than nothing

standby opener - Agarwal better than Rahane or Rayudu , one step for the future 

play match as per pitch and ground 

 

not addressed weaknesses 

 

dhoni - needs to be criticised more by people like Sachin . 

More batting time for Karthick - can’t expect him to fire straight off after a month . Lanka will be a good place to send him at no 3 

tailend batting - somebody get bum rah and chahal to learn to at least not get out and take a single

powerhitting - saw dhoni try sweep today to fast bowler - more of such is required

our slog overs bowling is iffy. also the lack of a th bowling option by playing DK ahead of jadhav. having 4 keepers in the team is too much.

We have to play Jadeja against England in place of DK if we are facing them in semis and we need three fast bowlers.You have to play 6 bowlers against England. Shami cannot bowl at death.DK at no7 will add very little.

Jadeja in place of dk. The most matches as no 7 played in the squad. He must field 50 overs legally where our fielding resource is low.remember we lost a good fielder in dhawan.

This is where the TM erred in first place with Jadhav. Jadhav shud have been No 4 since he is a specialist Batter. Even DK should have been No 4 today irrespective of how Pant played. 

 

Its simple - Specialist Batsmen ( especially those who dont bowl at all and count Jadhav in that category ) need to come up the order !!!!!

jaddu at 7 adds very little with batting. he cannot score at a SR of above 80-90. he and dhoni will completely sap the momentum at 6 and 7.

Jadeja - our awesome sub ! That’s a strength . Also going into finals , you play as per match 

 

it’s always gonna be tossup between bhuvi and Jadeja - feel we either go in with 3 fast bowlers and two spinners

 

yes having Jadeja in place of DK seems attractive but Jadeja is not a game changing batter or a bowler

 

dk can change a game - if pitches are roads the 4 fast bowlers with chahal should be enuf .

 

get sharma to bowl off spin - given his luck rt now he may end up with a wicket or two 

 

our strategy post ct trophy has been

 

- 5 bowlers who will get u wickets 

Pandya shami bumrah in good wicket form 

chahal in good wicket form 

 

delending on pitch and opppsition take jadeja or bhuvi or kuldeep

 

example take bhuvi on flat pitch 

on spin pitch -if playing england take jadeja 

if playing aussie take kuldeep 

 

7 good batters is a must . Jadeja is a good bowler and fielder . He has not won any match like dk has with his batting but if he clicks , it’s a great bonus

I am not worried about Jadeja the batsman, if jadeja is needed with bat India is not going to win that match.Same with DK, he won't win match with bat coming at no7.What jadeja can do is keep India in match with ball.

Weakness -

I don't trust rahul's runs at all,looks tentative throughout and eats balls.

Can't play chahal and kuldeep together on short ground.

Have to play useless kedar or risk playing with just 5 bowlers.

Dhoni insufferable.

Number 4 still not reliable.

Pandya being figured out in terms of big hitting in last overs.Just bowl outside off to him.

Biggest weakness.. is chasing a target of 300+ nd .. top order is already in pressure.. considering our middle order is in complete disarray.. this incredible mess of an absolute phooey middle order starts nd ends with dhoni.. he is playing 90's brand of cricket... Where he is content with chasing target of below 250.. However if target is beyond 300+ nd if top order doesn't come to the party then chances of dhoni fluffing the chase by taking it deep by eating gobs of dots balls resulting an absolute impossible situation where he will make sure we loose..
