putrevus Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 ^^^So true , Aussies never whinged about umpiring.Even Aussies in the commentary didn't bring that up after the win. They gave Stokes all the credit. nevada 1

Geoff Boycott Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 I think I praised Tim Paine too soon Quote “That’s a hard one to take, I must admit," Paine said. "I can’t fathom why or how that wasn’t given out at the time because England had two referrals left and I think if it’s given out the correct decision is then made upstairs." While this seems logical, that's not how DRS works Tim. Just because Aussie burned theirs and England didn't, doesn't mean you get a Brucie Bonus review. Justin Langer put him right Quote “The umpire should make the decision he thinks is right regardless of reviews in my opinion,” Langer said. “If they think it’s out they should give it. If they don’t they should give it not-out. The review system is as it is and sometimes they go your way, sometimes they don’t.

Justin Langer put him right He is absolutely right, the umps are often times guessing unless they're dead certain if it's out. We saw umpteen howlers in the WC especially courtesy Dar & Adharamasena, with the DRS now restricted to 2 reviews per innings & what I've observed is that when the teams burn their reviews even marginal or plumb decisions are going against them! This is because the umps know that they cannot be challenged & this will not impact their "performance" report

YCCC Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 As if anyone is surprised that a Yorkshireman is proclaiming Headingley as t' best ground in t' world. Obviously as a Yorkshireman I'm right so no point arguing express bowling 1
Ankit_sharma03 Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Confirmation from the Australia camp that Mitchell Starc will play instead of Peter Siddle. That means the tourists line up as follows: 1 Warner, 2 Harris, 3 Labuschagne, 4 Smith, 5 Head, 6 Wade, 7 Paine (c/wk), 8 Cummins, 9 Starc, 10 Hazlewood, 11 Lyon.
Chalks Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Craig Overton in for Woakes for England. Wtf does Sam Curran have to do to get a game? Roy and Denly swap positions - Denly to open, Roy to #4. So I suppose Roy has swapped coming in at the beginning of the innings for coming in at 2 for 10?
Stan AF Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Archer's bowling in the early to mid 80s. express bowling 1
Stan AF Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Another marginal decision. Umpire call, clipping bails.
Frustrated Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 (edited) Healthy run rate of nearly 4.5, despite losing 2 early wickets. Aussies playing positively. Edited September 4, 2019 by Frustrated
putrevus Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 This guy Smith is Bradman of modern era.I have not seen anyone score runs on any type of pitch against any type of bowling like him.He does not get out.
Stan AF Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Decent grip and turn in the first session itself. Hmm.
mishra Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 This game is done. Aussies should win it and retain the Ashes. Job done Smith.
Moochad Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 England look incomplete without Anderson there. Aussies in the lead.
