They are decent team at home not great.They might not have lost series but they have lost lot of tests at home in last five years. 12 tests lost at home in five years is lot of tests.They play lot of four or five test series so they always have a chance to make a come back.They have lowest winning percentage of all big teams at home.

SMITH is a freak but life definitely levels you up in cricket.. Don Bradman will most likely  remain the exceptional outlier.

 

I think he will retire with 58+ avg but i hope he does with 60+. There will be decline for sure and few bad series but he is hard working and finds way to work on his issues. Depends on how bad his decline and how early he retires.

The thing is in Australia , Players do retire at the right time. So I expect Smith to do the same. 

 

Smith's reflexes might  slow down after 35. So he still have at least 5 good years with him.

SRT didn't really play too many matches at his test peak, in fact he played the least IIRC among batters who avg above 50 in the 90's & even lesser at home. Had he played more then & less at the end, he could've easily avg in excess of 57 or even 59 towards the end of his career.

Many ICFers were stating that Aussies did a blunder in the previous tests by excluding Starc.   They must hv realised by now that Starc is overrated in tests.  Forget wickets, he is not even economical most of the time.  Leaks too many runs in almost every test .

Starc has always been an over rated bowler. After sandpaper saga, his bowling nose dived. He is only  good against srilanka now
