These missions are never smooth sailing, just because ISRO has been Steve Smith level consistent so far expectations are always sky high. All countries encounter such roadblocks, USA, USSR/Russia, China, Japan..no exception. They are saying the orbiter is the main component in charge of running experiments, all good. Back our scientists through thick and thin, some of the most hard working, patriotic and determined blokes around, they will cover the lacuna in the future. Let social science uncles/aunties (not all, some are sensible), liberandus and enemies have a field day....they are beneath contempt. Modi conducted himself like a true statesman, kudos. His gesture in hugging ISRO chief Sivan, his words of gratitude, pride and encouragement to the ISRO personnel, mention about the sacrifices/support of their families etc...that is how a leader is supposed to act. Most of us (leave usual suspects) are very proud of ISRO, a shining gem of Bharat. For the last 24 hours the way the entire nation left everything aside and tuned in with rapt attention to the coverage of this mission as if it were a cricket WC final....faak that is what legendary institutions are all about, they inspire future generations. When today's kids have sky high ambition because of missions like this, I'd say this mission is 110% success. Lastly those concerned people moaning about our poverty and calling space missions unaffordable, all I say is khisak le. These missions aren't half as costly as most of the brain-cell numbing Hollywood movies this generation has grown up on. We don't launch foreign satellites as charity, Antrix generates surplus revenue (something Fawad Hussain like clowns will never understand) and the institute doesn't depend on govt dole outs as is common in some countries with moon on their flags. Besides many more advantages in these research programs which aggrieved humanities students needn't worry about, so * off. Gather 20 of your nearby ward councillors and do an audit of their finances, sum total their ill gotten wealth and boom that is the budget of Chandrayaan-III. So keep your sermons to yourselves and if you really are that concerned don't cry vendetta when agencies catch hold of the corrupt leeches. Isn’t it shocking that as the only known most intelligent living species in the solar system, we have not even conquered deep space human exploration beyond Moon which was 50 years back. Exploration is our DNA. We have been doing it for centuries. The day we stop doing that, we die. Even we take care of this planet (which obviously we are not doing a good job), Earth is one meteor/asteroid collision from being gone. You learn from mistakes, make corrections and try again. As someone who is working in this field, I wish ISRO all the best and hope the Indian Government continue to back the agency and keep funding space exploration. It is In our DNA to explore. Jai Hind! While it didnt end the way we all wanted, I am sure i am not alone when i write the entire journey for past 5-6 weeks has been enjoyable and almost everyone around me were personally invested. Apparently 4 engines that had to work in unison worked fine the phase were two of them had to takeover to fine stabilize did not work as expected. It was traveling at 10 meters per second so vikram might have landed but critically damaged or coms damaged Lets hope for a miracle. sergio04 and beetle 2

Most of the first NASA missions failed as did Soviet missions. Abdul Kalam mentioned how his first mission was a failure and how his mentor gave him encouragement. He represented 1.3 billion Indians that moment, proud of the team, proud of ISRO Chief Sivan who rose from humble origins (first graduate in his family, son of a farmer) to lead such a great organization.
